Reliable Volunteer Editors

I realize that our 'volunteer editors' are volunteers, and that we have to respect that particular aspect of their 'services,' but I've had a great deal of difficulty finding any who can provide any kind of reliable editing on my stories, despite the fact that my stories are fairly short.

- No answer to request - after waiting a week or so for a reply, moving on to another = 1 week delay
- Answer - promise of editing within a week or so - no response = another 1 week delay
- Answer - promise of editing - returned piece - posted; but no response for additional requests = more delays of subsequent story requests
- This particular sequence repeated, over and over = a long time between postings

I don't write particularly difficult pieces, and I don't think they are particularly offensive so I'm wondering if many of our 'volunteer editors' might be 'one shot wonders.'

Can anyone recommend any editors that are reliably responsive and capable of spotting spelling and grammatical errors, and that would have little hesitation in suggesting any change in story line that might enhance it's erotic entertainment value?

One last request: Be able to return the edited piece within a reasonable length of time--maybe a week or so? (I'm closer to 100 yrs old than I am to 35, so waiting weeks for a reply is not going to do me much good)

BTW, I have no problems acknowledging editorial assistance if they agree to it.

Respectfully,

Hatsuda -

I'm afraid that what you have experienced occurs from time to time. In my case I got lucky and found an experienced volunteer that has taught me a great deal.

I also had one that started but didn't finish, but at least had the courtesy to let me know they were unable to finish because of changing time constraints.

I had a well respected member (who shall remain nameless so don't ask) simply blow me off. I sent the document as requested to the right address, and received no response whatever. One (and only one) PM wanting to know if it had been received was ignored.

So it happens. Keep trying. Hopefully you'll find someone that has the time and the inclination. I'd volunteer but I'm up to my armpits in alligators.

(Nice to see another Sr. who writes)

Good luck

Did you miss my "Hi" thread? It's been attracting some requests. Slowly, like I like it. Not like a floodgate has opened.

*Slap* (to the back of your head). Pay attention!

I can put you in line. Look at previously menioned thread, but you will be in a short line, if you can find help elsewhere sooner that's okay too.

Won't be offended.

I will be back in line soon. I have gallons of free tap water if you need some.:)

The "available this month" sticky is usually filled with editors that come back month after month that have reputations for doing the job you'd think they've come to do. There isn't a reputation thread that says "Such and such editor completed my needs as promised" with fifty or more people agreeing or disagreeing, which is unfortunate. But if you come here rather than Literotica's main "volunteer editor" program, you should be happy with what you find. Exhaust the entire monthly sticky, and you should find someone eventually.

Hatsuda, i agree

(Warning:Ignore grammatical mistakes)
Hatsuda, you're completely right. I've passed from the same ordeal. I remember my first editor. After sending my story, she never sent it or answer my messages. I've different type of at least fifteen experience of not getting edited story. I wanted to open them all but I thought as they served free, i shouldn't hurt them.

However, before one month I found the thread "available editor" and they all are really helping me, as Coppersink has said. You never find serous editor in Main Editor' Forum
