Rejection reason???

I wouldn't have thought so either, but I'm not sure how much more specific a rejection notice could be, short of listing the specific mistakes. Given that the error in my story was fairly near the beginning I assume it was spotted and taken as an indication that the whole piece would be teeming with such rubbish.

You could e-mail it to someone to take a look at it for an independent opinion, but I gotta note that every time I've looked at one like this, the real problem hasn't been what the poster said it was--or they didn't actually understand the problem and fix the real problem.

I fixed the one spelling error and it went straight through, if there were other issues then they weren't picked up the second time around. Also Laurel specifically said that if the rejection notice said it was a spelling issue then it was a spelling issue.

I tried a word doc once.....that was enough.

It only takes a couple of seconds to do this

I can see it working for most authors. Unfortunately, I get nitpicky and post revisions now and then, and I don't want to go back through a 10k-15k-word story re-tagging all the italics every time I notice something that needs fixing.
