Audio Stories sent back

I don't know what's going on with the audio story censors, but it appears that I'm not allowed to post an audio story using a professional narrator.

At first, I used a text to voice program and although the quality was excellent, it was rejected due to copyright issues apparently.
Then I submitted the stories that were narrated by a person whom I paid to narrate for me. This was not AI, it is a real person and I have the rights from the narrator to release these stories.

So what, are they only accepting audio stories that are narrated by the author/member and not a third party? The thing is, I already have other stories on Lit which have been narrated by the same narrator, and they were accepted about a year ago. Also it couldn't be a content problem because I have the exact same story in the non-audio section.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong!

It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. After all, how would they know if your narrator is you, a professional or your uncle Ernie?

You need to present some sort of proof that you own the copyright in your narrated stories. I suggest you resubmit them, with more information included in the Note to the Editor.

My guess is, there's so much AI junk being submitted these days, that you're not getting past some kind of automated rejection process, first off, with a pro-forma response. Resubmit with more details, and include the detail next time.

The response suggests that you've used AI in generating the text and/or the narration.

This is a can of worms. From what you've said you can show that the narrator is a person and you have permission from them to publish the work. How about the writing? Using Grammarly, for instance, trips up a lot of people.

That is frustrating. All you can do is submit with a note to the Editor, as you have done, stating that the audio content is human, not AI, and that you own the copyright, by way of commissioning the voice artist.

You're caught in the AI trap more than anything else, based on the generic rejection response you've got.

Thanks for your response. I have 3 audio stories on Audible which I paid a narrator to narrate for me. I've spent about $400.00 on narration and made less than $100.00 in total revenue so far (they've been up for about 18 months). So not very profitable for me so far.

I did try to use a text to speech program which in my opinion is more natural than virtual voice. But ACX (Audible) wouldn't accept it. They said it had to be narrated by a human voice. But I see heaps of stories on there that are narrated using Virt. V.

I did look into using Virt. V. but I couldn't find how to use it. I figured that it's not available anymore.

I guess you could say that the reason my stories are not doing well on Audible is because they're not very well written or the content is not good. But on Lit, they're all doing very well. All over 4.5 rating with thousands of views. I wish I had a dollar for every view, I would've made over $100.000 by now. So I'm not sure why my stories are not doing well on KDP or Audible???

And now, I can't even get a story published as an audio story on Lit. I'm trying to get "Lesbian Schoolgirl Desires" published as an audio story. It has been narrated by Natalie Anna's, a human, NOT AI and I already have other stories published with the same narrator, but the moderator keeps sending it back with no clear reason why they rejected it.

I do put info in the box for admin when I post my story to alert them to the above, but somehow I don't think they're reading my comments.

I'm at a loss really!

I did look into using Virt. V. but I couldn't find how to use it. I figured that it's not available anymore.

As far as I know, the Virtual Voice feature is still in beta testing by Amazon. I know other authors who can't see it as an option while I've been using it for over a year as one of their testers.

I do find it hypocritical that Audible will accept AI-generated narration by Virtual Voice but not from other AI sources, but they are owned by Amazon, so there you have it.

Where your current challenge is concerned, trying to get the point across to Laurel is the only option I can suggest. If a note in the submission isn't doing the trick, have you tried sending her a DM?

Someone bought several print on demand books of mine through Amazon, just last month. Surprised the fuck out of me, when I saw the PayPal payment advice. That wasn't meant to come through on that email address!
