Submitted second story but it was rejected. Maybe it's my inexperience but I don't understand why. I had no problem with my first story, but my next ones were rejected. If I can get help understanding the issue I will be glad to correct it. I think there was a vague explanation but I can't find it now.
Thanks for constructive assistance. Buckeyeguy95

The rejection should include a reason. It's hard for anyone to help without that.

If you click on one of your "sent back" stories, there should be a note from the moderator. It will usually be a copy and paste of one of Lit's content rules, like "no external links," or "use proper grammar and punctuation," etc.

That should tell you why your story was sent back. If you want to share the mod note here, we could give advice on your next steps!

Something similar, but different. Specifically an illustrated story, which I know take much longer to publish. This was rejected fairly quickly.

Checking in "check list" was fruitless. There were no violations that I could find.
I HAVE submitted and published illustrated stories in the past. My writing "style" is not according to Hoyle (or anyone else), but it tends to be readable and I even checked for spelling and grammar! It is POSSIBLE the issue is because I wrote it in Adobe Pages and exported to a Word document.
OR that I put ©I.M. Fauve on my illustrations. And MAYBE I needed a note during submission that explained; "that's me"

It is additionally curious, in that I submitted another illustrated story prior, which is still "pending". That story was generated in the same way.

I dove into the editors list (Holy bejeebus! There's quite a few. Finally picked one and sent a inquiry)

I would guess that something about the format meant the words didn't show up as text once Laurel received it? If it was rejected due to a copywrite concern about the images, you'd think she'd not suggest posting it as art.

Did the vague text include "if you use Grammarly..."

Doesn't really 'splain it.

I would think less about the image or copyright. If it was Laurel, herself looking, she knows (knew) who I am. *shrug*

If this cannot be resolved easily, I'll just go back into my corner and draw. I'm not much of a writer anyway. :)
I also like the more immediate gratification of posting just illustrations - currently that only takes a few days!

Hell! I can typically fit my "stories" into the description of the illustration.

It's tough when you have to be a detective on your own work. "There are clues to the rejection in here somewhere." Another site (they have multiple moderators) will say, "We just don' like ____________." The reasons are sometimes a bit silly or arbitrary, but at least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Was the text of your story written on the images themselves? Or was it text with interspaced images like the one you published previously?

The suggestion to submit it to artwork instead makes me think it was the former. If not, then what was the word count of the text? There is a minimum of 750. Maybe her thought was to put it in with the images and include the below-minimum text there.

AH! I never knew there was a MINIMUM word count! Did I gloss over that in the "check list"? (I'll look again)

Edit: Found it. The link they provided> https://www.literotica.com/resources/content-guidelines
Had a link in IT> https://www.literotica.com/resources/submission-guidelines

Excerpt from the submission guidelines page:
  1. You Must Be A Member To Publish on Literotica
Join Literotica (it’s free) or Login if you’re already a member (see our Membership FAQ).
  2. Minimum Length
Stories published on Literotica must be at least 750 words in length. There is no maximum length.

That's likely it! There are only 385 words in THIS one. (not embedded or "on" the illustration).

OOoo... maybe this is an illustrated poem! HAhahahaa definitely not a haiku though.

They could have simply said: "It's not long enough" (that's what she said)

• I don't see where it is suggested I post to artwork either...?

EDIT: OH!... that link to submissions went to artwork submissions, not story submissions. Not sure why I would need an editor, in that case.

Thank you, @RejectReality !

You're more than halfway to the minimum. You could always combine two stories into an anthology and post them as one submission to meet the minimum if this one is complete as it stands.

I'm not that passionate about the story line.
I'll let this one go.

I simply added the "story" into the comments on the illustration, which I had posted as a stand alone just prior.
