To anyone who cares:
As for the incessent posting by certain individuals...I remember quite a few "regulars", as I've said before, who did the same exact thing. Some of these regulars, aren't really that "old"...they have come on relatively recently, it just seems like they've always been there because of the amount of posts they have. Some people have this need to comment on everything, especially when they are new...they want to fit it, they want to be liked...and they do that by posting a lot. I am a bit irritated that people seem to be pointing the finger at one or two individuals, when there are many doing the same thing.
And about the registering...I have to agree with the people who say that we are all anonymous anyway. I will probably never meet any of you. If I passed you on the street I wouldn't know who you were. This is why I don't understand why we don't just say what's on our minds. For the most part, I have been decent...there are a few instances that I wasn't. I will not apologize for that because that is how I felt at the time. I say what is on my mind, because there is no reason not to. This isn't a popularity contest, well, maybe for some people...but not me.

Having dealt with BB's, chat rooms, newsgroups, and BBS's for years, I think that I've come to my valuation system quite fairly. The problem with giving equal credibility to unregistered and unknown users is that in many cases several of those users turn out to be the same person. For example, if Lasher, Latina, Dixon, and Deborah all tell me that something I've posted is stupid, I'm fairly sure that I've got 4 individual users, each of whom has enough of a history in my life that their combined opinions may cause me to take a third or fourth look at the issue.
If, on the other hand, 4 unregistered users (let us call them Fucker, Mr. Fuckles, Ben Dover, and Lez Fuck) were to raise similar questions, I would be probably be less likely to invest a great deal of my time or effort into considering their posts. That certainly isn't to say that I wouldn't read the posts, and it isn't to say that I would automatically discount their opinion.
If a stranger walked up to me on the street and told me I was stupid, I would most likely shrug it off (and take off running in the other direction). If my best friend told me that I was being stupid about something, I would definitely give that more weight. I think it's fair to say that most people have a hierarchy of authorities in their lives. In my hierarchy, Manu might rank higher than Lasher, but Lasher might rank higher than the unregistered user Mr. Fucker. I don't think this is unfair. If you automatically discount what someone else says simply because you don't know them, that would be fairly closed-minded and could certainly limit your exposure to new ideas and new relationships. The flip side of that is that if you were to give equal weight to the comments of every stranger and to those of your closest family members, you may end up spending more time in your therapist's office than out.
Now, I'm gonna go post 6 replies to this message using unregistered screen names, and with that kind of back-up for my opinion, how can anyone disagree?

I to noticed that no one posted anything negative to my thread. I just took it as those who did not post were against it, or at least thought it was a bad idea. I remember a while back when we were allowed to speak our minds without always having to apologize for hurting someones feelings. I think that is exactly why this board is becoming boring. I love to flirt here too but I like to read the good discussions. I miss not having very many of those. I might not have posted on most of them but I did read them and alot of times learned something new and got to hear more than just a one-sided opinion. I too noticed all the posters that post five to six pages just repeating the same flirt over and over with the same one or two people, like I have said...I too flirt but not every single minute of the day on every single thread. It is getting old, I hope you all get to the 1000 post mark so that it will get over and our regular discussers will get back and start some interesting threads.

Nice to see people discussing something for a change, LOL. And for those of you who are upset because something exists in this world other than peace and harmony, well.... What fucking planet are you on? I'm much happier seeing people express honest emotion than I am seeing people hiding behind puppies and flowers and pretending the world is ONLY beauty and light. It's not, and I think it would be a mighty fucking boring place if it was...
Anyways, there is only one thing here I actually want to comment on right now, and that's this comment that Laurel made:

I think if I gave the impression that ALL who post should be given equal weight, then I must have mispoken somewhere. That is not at all what I meant to say. My main point was to suggest that dismissing a post only because it was made by an unregistered user is, well, unwise. Likewise, I would say giving credence to a post only because the person who posted has X number of posts, or some fucking title under their name, is equally unwise.
Obviously, someone who would post regularly under an unregistered name would eventually develop credibility issues. However, regardless of the name, the occasional nugget of truth can be gleaned from the unregistered on this board. To dismiss these posts only because the name has not been registered is, at best, a naive assumption.
Alot of what Laurel said is true. There are people - such as herself, Lovely Latina, and Deborah - who have been on this board a long time and, because of the consistent intelligence of their posts, I have come to respect their opinions. But another point made by Never is equally true - if you only know someone's posts by their name, then you don't really know them at all. It is so completely obvious to me when an unregistered post has been made by Deborah - whatever name she uses doesn't matter (unless it enhances the the quality of the post), it's the content that's important. That's what people should be striving for.
Again, let me make this clear, I am NOT advocating that people should not register, and I am NOT advocating that EVERY post should be given equal relevance purely because they exist. All I am asking is that people actually take the time to read and to understand before judging the validity of something that has been posted.

You may have missed the most obvious reason of all Lasher. It is fucking boring to watch people on the board all race for the thousand mark. Some people just need that sad little reinforcement. The board has always been for me a chance to be irreverent. I have my own thought about some things people post but what I say or do not say will not keep them from setting themselves up for tragedy.

You know that saying, "If you don't have anything nice to say..."? Well, usually I try to live by that, but occasionally I don't.
That's not to say that I don't want to offer a dissenting opinion on a topic. I enjoy a lively, mature, rational discussion as much as anyone. But in regard to a personal situation, such as Rosebud/Havoc/Nicole's, I didn't offer up any reservations I have about their plans to live together as a threesome. They didn't ask for advice or opinions. Since I correspond with Nicole, the board is not the place where I would bring up any reservations I might have.
