Good afternoon RJ.

I myself should be working, but I just can't get into it yet. Today though, I WILL write something, even if it's just a few paragraphs. Sometimes, once I start, I am fueled and it pours out. I hope to be done for Monday, with a full head of steam.

It's also supposed to cool down a fair bit here, which will likely help.

It's cooling here, thank God, now I can breathe. He had storms last night, and like Gothic writers of the 19th century, they stirred the writer in me. My wife watched with her mouth open as I typed on my laptop. She couldn't believe that thunder and lightning could release the passion of creating in me.

I love a strong, powerful thunderstorm and the ones where the skies go white thrill me. Sensibly, if they're that strong, I shut down the computer. Don't know if it would affect the laptop if there were a power surge. Some of the urban myths (lightning can travel through pipes and your cellphone) are indeed true (watched a 20/20 segment on lightning a few years back) and lightning DOES strike twice or several times.

Glad you're creative and things at home are good.

Yeah that's why my house needs a $10,000 house rewiring job because lightning hit the house and the transformer outside. When we moved in after the house was closed down for 2 years one day the power just went out. Found out we had modulating currant coming in. 3 weeks I had to live with parents. My frige was growing things I don't even want to talk about.

Lightning hit my parent's house twice as well. In one case, it fried my brother's TV (I had moved out by then)

Working diligently for a bit longer before I have a nap.

10 years ago, lightning hit the house 3 plots up from us, causing a shit ton of damage, including blowing out all the tvs in their house. It caused damage to our tv.

Last summer, the same house was hit. This time, it hit a lightning rod. After the storm, kids in the neighborhood were digging for fulgurite.

We have 2 plasma screen TV's I made sure I got the super duper surge protectors because I had to replace the stove and Fridge from the modulating current.

We had a massive power surge here about 4 years back. My parents had just given me their old TV (it was a bit newer than the one I had) and it blew the fuse. Luckily, mine still worked fine so I just put it back. I bought this TV a good while back and it still works well. My other TV I've had since the 80's (it was called a Blue Optic and had one of the first flat screens, rather then the curved ones most had) and it still works. Of course, it's all moot as I no longer have cable and you can't get any signals now unless you have a really good TV or cable.

When we moved in, we had most of the wiring changed. Our tv was damaged because it was old, 10 years old when it was hit 10 years ago, and it wasn't on a surge protector. The tv in the bedroom, plus our computers survived.

Now all electronics are on protectors.

I have power bars with surge protectors for the TV and for the computer (this one) and the other TV still blew out. Oddly, it happened while I was asleep, if I recall correctly.

So far, no rain, no storms, but they're on the way. I made it safely to my secondary office.

Work was a total washout though. New intern orientation and they were introduced to my office. They were told that the company supplies free bottled water and iced tea, but if they want soft drinks or juice, they have to purchase it themselves, or give me some money. Later, the HR rep who was giving the tour told me that I need to have some sort of jar or can, someplace where the interns can "contribute to the soda". She told me that the money will be used at the end of summer to throw them a pizza party.

Ssh.

If we remain quiet we might, with luck, manage to obtain a glimpse of that rarest of creatures, the RedHairedandFriendly.
Known for her hectic lifestyle and many and diverse interests, she is rarely seen more than briefly in anyone place. The fortunate observer may, with patience, catch a glimpse of red as she rushes past, flitting between the rooms of her abode. Occasionally she can also be seen on the thoroughfares of the town as she pursues her commercial activity.

Well, it seems that we are not to be granted an appearance today. Perhaps we will leave a small token for her notice so that she knows there are those who are thinking of her and wishing her well in her endeavors.

Holy cuddly bunnies, Batman!

I think I just had an Angellica1612 sighting!

*considers taking up 'bird' watching ;) *

I am sure RED's new job is keeping her busy. If she is away too long, I'll contact her through her E-Mail.

Wishing all well on Tuesday. I've got a new one available if anyone wants something to read, plus just submitted another.

I just got home from a 12 hour drive through rain! I drove 5 hours. I was following a tractor trailer. I was sad when we had to part ways!

I'm glad you made it hom safely SCENT. When I went to Ottawa last September, we were behind a couple of big rigs and it was raining heavily. They were throwing off so much mist, my father could not see where we were going and we got a bit lost.

Was glad we ended up traveling yesterday, 9 hour trip and only a little bit of rain. Mostly just sun and decent weather, allowed us to make a quick stop off to pay our respects at Arlington. :)

Giving RED's thread a bump. If we don't here from her in a few more days, I'll give her a quick E-Mail and say hi from all of us.

As much as I love RED, I know she often gets distracted and forgets there are those of us in LIT who want to know she's doing well. Last time she was gone for a length of time, she gave me her new E-Mail address in case she got neglectful again.

I hope you're doing well SCENT. I am here at the computer for the next several hours as I work towards a HELLISH deadline.
