I used to write songs and I take a similar approach in writing stories here and elsewhere. For me, I want to know how it starts and how it ends. The middle is where the discovery happens. Add a catchy title and make sure your opening line is drop-dead gorgeous. Allow for tension and release.
And always, always make the audience crave more. :)

I doubt that. Paying someone is always going to cost more than taking care of it yourself. I mean - you have to cover the labor as well as the supplies used.

But time is money, and if someone will clean it for $75 and it takes over 2 hours to get all the stains out, let alone what has soaked through the fabric to the cushion underneath, it may be in my best interest.

Shall we debate this further or should I saunter off to another thread? ;)
