Well, my diary says that today is Friday, 10 May, which means ...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RED!!!

Not Friday here yet.

I haven't eaten today either, although I've had coffee. I should eat more regularly than I do, shame on me. I do take my meds but over 53 years, I've always eaten when I'm hungry, not when I should. With diabetes, even Type 2, I should try and change that a bit. Oddly, my sugars are pretty good.

Yes, I turned 40 today, the 9th of May in America - the 10th of May in Australia. ;) :D
Thanks everyone.

The first week of work has been BUSY and this is the first time I've actually gotten a chance to visit here because of the evenings have been busy with school/kids. I'm enjoying the job though and the fullness of my week. :)

Brett, don't forget to check out the May Immunity thread - congrats on your win!!

My daughter had a scholarship award night at her school and was awarded 2 more scholarships, totaling 2500.00 which can be renewed every year for 4 years. :D She's only $337.00 away from having the first year paid for. :D

RED, happy birthday to you. Okay, I was going to wait until tomorrow to wish you a Happy Birthday but as it's the 9th and not the 10th, I hope it was a good one.

Thanks for letting me know about the Immunity - I didn't think I was ever going to win one. I had almost forgotten about it and haven't written much for LIT as of late.

Now I just have to find out how it works. I know I can pick a category NOT to write in but what do I do from there?

Actually it was Jag that told ya... ;)

Hey Brett just so you know you won an immunity. You will need to go to the May Immunity thread in Survivor and post what category you would like an immunity in.
:D

Thanks Brett. Yes, today is the day. It's been a good day. I did have to work, but as customary, the spouse made my cake and we had it and some ice cream when I got home. Then we headed to the band/choir high school performance. I'll be heading to bed in a bit.

For the immunity, you choose the category and it would be covered for the first cap level (meaning the first 3 stories in the category). You post on the immunity thread what category you want the immunity to apply to and the on your scorecard you post the date of the immunity under the category title that you're using the immunity in:

An example would be:

Gay Male: 0 points
1. IMMUNITY - won on 5/8/2013
2.
3.
(cap level one)

*now to keep the immunity valid, you have to write 3 stories in some other category.

I have chosen Gay Male, which I see you've noted.

So I have to write 3 stories in another category to replace the 1 or do I no longer have to write Gay Male at all? This is all very confusing. Do I get points for the other three or not?

Glad you had a good birthday, I envy you that. Mine are usually sucky. They have been since I hit 30 and that was some time back.

You'll get points for the other 3.

If you write 3 lesbian stories, then your gay male immunity is valid and you don't have to write any gay male stories for the first cap level. The only way you'd have to write a gay male story is if you didn't place 3 stories in one category. I don't see you having a problem with writing 3 stories for one category, especially lesbian or incest/taboo.

I'm heading to bed. I work tomorrow, but I have the weekend off, so I hope to pop in and hang out a little online. Have a good weekend.

I have a number of stories backlogged RED that I can submit to LIT. I just haven't had time to edit them for placement here.

Thanks for the advice. Still not sure of a lot of things but I may yet figure it out.

I have to get off my lazy butt and start writing more RED. I am not yet motivated the way I need to be.

Happy belated Birthday RED!!!

Brett, I know your "pain." I have a backlog of stories, though none are finished, just started and close to being finished.

I thought I saw it was your birthday.... I think I've missed it by like 16 minutes :(

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY RED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
