Rediscovering the classics

OH NO, I was off by a few years. Take shelter from the wrath of Q!
Getting back to topic, I enjoyed Fahrenheit 451, The Odyssey, 1984, Frankenstein, The Outsiders, and Lord of the Flies.

What about Death of a Salesman ?

I thought you said that was one of your favorite novels.

But it isn't a novel it's a play!

And speaking of plays, it seems you have a balcony one could play Shakespeare from there, love.

I dont see it listed. btw, you go on the list as well. I am tired of seeing your drivel.

Oh, this is mint!

Here's Scott's post as it now appears. He edited it just now.

"My 5 faves-
Grapes of Wrath- a tale of hardship during the Great Depression, showing how people delt in a dark period in modern American history.
Catcher in the Rye- the difficulties and indescretions of youth
Lolita- a mans yearning for what he can not have
1984- the search for truth no matter the personal consequences.

I do not specialize in any specific period but I do like the goth period. I also admire female authors such as Shelley and Plath.

Here's the original as quoted by Kobalt9

Now, *this* is brilliant science fiction.
no, what is great fiction is Q posting his anti-hetero sentiments and then backing down from them. For Chrissakes, say what you mean and mean what you say, jack offs.

I distinctly remember telling you to fuck off. I meant it. Which part of that did you miss?

you know damn well where the thread is. Your tirade about straights having special priviledges = anti-hetero. It doesnt matter if its true or not, why did you post that? This is the origin of our arguments.

btw, my rants are much more original than your "fiction". Great quotes ya got there, lol.

Are you aware that there is currently a debate ongoing in the United States regarding whether or not gays should have the same rights to marry as straights? Perhaps you are not, they probably don't devote much time to the subject on the Cartoon Channel.

The existence of straight privilege is obvious. One need not hate heterosexuals to recognize it's existence. Most heterosexuals recognize it themselves.

Your assumption that anyone posting on gay issues is exhibiting anti-heterosexual feelings simply by engaging in the discussion reveals your own homophobic nature.

I am aware of the gay marriage debate and IT IS LAW that they are not allowed to marry, so what is your point?
You assume I hate gays because I called you on your whining that straights believe they are somehow better because of their orientation. You are the phobic one. Try your amateur psychological bullshit on someone else.

how did this classic lit thread lead to a debate on gays? Fuck this.
Talk about the classics and stop hijacking medjays thread.

No, I assume you hate gays because whenever anyone gay disagrees with you, you respond by calling them "queens" and making references about glory holes.

Yes. let's talk about the classics.

Do you still think Emily Bronte and George Orwell were Americans?

never said they were. Do you want to argue this as well?
This is what I mean by being an asshole yet expecting me to show respect.
btw, I never stated I hated gays. In fact, you may know that I support gay marriage. What was that, nothing to say now?

Yet another lie. You listed Bronte as your favorite American female novelist, and 1984 as one of your favorite American novels during your "I have a Master's in Literature" fugue. You know you did, I know you did, and everyone who read the thread knows you did. Why don't you just give it up?
