Recurring elements in your stories

College students. Most of my characters are college students. If you think about it, it's just about the easiest way to make a story work. Everyone is over eighteen, there are lots of interesting characters around, everyone is just discovering who they are inside, and pretty much anything goes.

Me too. It didn't occur to me until someone told me I was really good at writing college stories, but as you say, it's the perfect setting for erotica.
Also:
1. Nice people who are best friends with a bully for some reason (the former always win out - I like happy endings).
2. Older women, younger men
3. Shy guys, and to a lesser extent shy gals too.
4. I always aim for a feminist bent to my stories, though you'd have to ask my readers if I succeed.
5. And if there's one defining characteristic: unshaven, bushy pussies.

My themes…

Men undressing outdoors

Spanking

Humiliation

Tables being turned

On someone called Mart!

I try to avoid repetitive content, but it might be inevitable. Quite a few of my female protagonists are brunettes. A lot of my characters are professionals. Parties are common--to the point where one story is little more than a series of parties. I like ghosts.

I've got a couple ballerinas in there, too.

In most of my stories there is always an element of foot fetish, could just be a brief sucking of toes during sex, or a mention of how good her red toes looked on his chest. Nothing full throttle, but always just a little something that reflects my personal fetish.

red dresses tend to make a regular appearance, and many of my female leads have tattoos.

Fairly shy main male characters. Not a kink but a strange preference. And I guess it's easier to imagine a shy subby male than an outgoing one - but I plan one day to write about a friendly happy-go-lucky male sub. At least I had the character come to life in my head and he'll show up somewhere.

I like college stories too, and often wish I was back in those days myself. There was so much hope for the future during this time, and so much freedom, but safe freedom, where you weren't totally on your own to sink or swim quite yet. It was probably the best time of my life and I'm sure many others.

I don't mean to, but getting in a lapdance or striptease tends to sneak into most of my stories.

Air Force Officers, defense contractors, beach cities in greater LA, all female MCs, various AF bases, and waitresses tend to populate my stories.

Haven't really answered this one yet have I?

I suppose my one big recurring kink is scent. My male characters tend to have sensitive noses, and truly enjoy, well, the scent of a woman.

Not just the obvious scent of pussy. But her sweat. Her skin. Her perfume.

There's also a recurring panty fixation in many of my tales, for the same reason; the guys love the smell.

I have no idea where this fetish comes from. Certainly not me!

(Narrator, Morgan Freeman Voice: the smell fetish does indeed stem from the author's own personal kink. He's just too embarrassed to admit it.)

I like writing about wholesome casual sex worlds, introducing philosophical thought points and challenging the current sexual norms by presenting alternatives and showing a reason why people would NOT want that, but not for the reasons you think. Most often it shows how women would be against incest and casual sex FAR more than men because it would increase their competition and devalue the average woman. After all, if you can just fuck your mother and sister, why would you be so desperate to seek out a girl to get your rocks off? And with such safe, pleasant partners, any girl would need to compete with an ideal that already loves them rather than having a man settle for just any pussy.

Also I like using toilet stuff in my works, but not for the humiliation angle, for the bonding angle of sharing such a vulnerable moment.

All my characters are human with appropriate flaws and strengths. The ones who are close to each other experience sexual attraction to each other on at least a “friends with benefits” level. Sometimes it’s more intense than that, but unless they’re bad people they keep their composure. Everyone also always has an agenda and acts on it. Even if that agenda is just “go with the flow”.

My stories all feature a relatively passive main male character - hopefully he's not completely devoid of personality, but it's the women that drive the action. And there are often lots of women - many of whom coincidentally seem to have large breasts and are very actively attractive to the main male character. That all usually leads to some CFNM stuff. So, in short, high literary realism that probes deeply into the essence of the human condition*.

* aka cumshots.

Sounds familiar...

Recurring themes:

  1. Petite blonde protagonists 😬 (too many to count)
  2. Demons (four stories - plus a passing reference in a fifth)
  3. Angels (ditto)
  4. Petite blonde demons and angels (I know)
  5. BJs - lots and lots and lots
  6. People who have experienced loss, bereavement or trauma
My demons are always protagonists, not antagonists.

Em
How did I forget?

7. Nipple clamps

I find forgetting nipple clamps is damn difficult after about five minutes. Damn things get more an more painful

Fainting scenes. I'm pretty sure I wrote Victorian novels in a previous life.

I like the challenge of it. Romantic and/or erotic depictions of fainting females have absolutely no place in modern fiction. As a literary convention, it's passé, sexist, and stupid. I know this and I expect my readers to know it. But I like the challenge of coming up with fainting scenes that a) are believable in the context of the story, b) don't make the fainting female seem like a total ninny, c) move the story forward, and d) show other characters reacting to the faint in ways unique to them and to the situation, and that reveal interesting things about their relationship to the fainter. I think fainting scenes are jarring and even off-putting if they fail to accomplish these things... though I'm likely to enjoy them anyway because of that past life I'm pretty sure I led, lol.

The beaded-curtain-covered doorway is a recurring theme in my first-time stories. Going beyond the beaded curtain represents loss of virginity.

Another recurring theme in art-related stories, is paintings or photographs on the wall that depict what will be happening in the seduction room.

Skinny dipping in bodies of water.
This is not a surprise to me. I love skinny dipping.
Is there really any other way to swim?
Jacuzzis... of all things.

I think it's the directional jets 🤭
My friend Athalia wrote a whole series of "hot tub" stories.

As for me, the recurring theme is strong, independent women who are usually the ones to initiate sex. Maybe I've been ahead of the "Me Too" thing for years, or maybe it's just part of the fantasy I have about women, and how much easier my puberty would have been if there had been more women like that in my life.

I've only actually written one so far (waiting to publish it), but of the other main ideas I've got for future stories, the idea of something being "wrong"/taboo about the relationship is almost ubiquitous. Cheating, extramarital sex and incest are the main ones, really. Anal too for one, depending on how "taboo" that's classed as round these parts.
