The doctors say I shuld regain full use of my right hand. As to my face, I can't explain it, but God has somehow healed it or restored it. You can still see some paces where it was burned and I don't have my right eyebrow back yet, but I have been told by both wife and daughters that I now have a brutishly handsome look about me. lol I guess that sounds better than hey dad you look like a french fry.

Very glad to hear that you're continuing your recovery. While I understand wanting to "get on with it," pay some attention to the docs and PTs, and don't try to go too fast. Maybe just a bit faster than they recommend. ;)

I LOLed at the french fry crack! It's good to see you haven't lost your sense of humor - you'll definitely need it during PT. :eek: Keep it up, Rich... we're all rooting for you and sending good thoughts/vibes/prayers/meditations your way.

I know I'm a sick, seriously twisted, puppy...

But that just made me think of you in bed, Mr. Happy at attention, with you holding a bottle of ketchup in one hand and your wife's hair in the other... saying "Who's your french fry? Who's your french fry?" ;)

Sorry I hadn't responded sooner. :eek: I'm just not in here much anymore. I wish you all the best. I've heard massage can help break up scar tissue and whatnot. It'd be something to consider after you're 100% better. I sure hope you feel better soon. :( ((((gentle hugs))))

RJ - I tried to post something this morning but had internet access problems.

I am glad to hear you are recovering. Back in '82 I had burn reconstructive surgery and all the PT stuff. OUCH!! I am sorry to hear of your experience and wish you sensitive, compassionate and talented caregivers. At this moment the only advice I can offer is to take all the nurturing offered and even ask for more where you can. I regret being all macho in my recovery and missing out on some healing support that was available.

I love and respect you, RJ, and look forward to seeing you with rope in your hands once again.

ps - 25 years after such an event the scars can look kinda cool - but not so much right now, I expect. :kiss:

I'm happy to hear that the prognosis is so good. As for your face, sometimes the good ones are looked after. As one of the newer ones on here I really enjoyed reading your recent posts as well as some from the library. We'll be patiently waiting until you are back up to your regular speed and adding your input to the threads again. :rose:

FWIW I am so pleased to hear that this episode has strengthened your faith rather than damaged it. So often these things can go either way depending on circumstance. I know your faith is an integral part of who you are and I am so pleased to read that you still have that on which to lean during this difficult time.

Now that's a surprise of the ugliest sort. I don't think there's a pain uglier than that of a burn. My very very best wishes to you in the struggle.

RJMasters I was surprised to read about your accident, but I haven't been here much lately. But I wanted you to know that I'm sending lots of good mojo your way, and I hope you'll heal up totally.

I had a pot of hot burning oil explode in my face causing 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over my face and hands. I am just getting home now and only have 20% use of my right hand(so I am typing this all left handed).

I start physical therapy this week, and perhaps if all goes well I will be online again soon. Forgive if i do no respond quickly as I tire quickly and making a post requires a great deal of energy.

I will check back in a day or two.
