Hi - thought I'd start this thread to help me find some of you lots favourite stories. I don't think that the highest rated stories are necessarily the best, or most enjoyable, so I figure we could all recommend some gems we may have come across.

Couple of rules:

1. Please don't recommend your own stories, even if they are really good.

2. By all means recommend friends' work, but let's not suck each other's dicks/clits/nips about it.

3. I don't intend this thread to be used to critique other people's work. A brief description and a link will suffice.

4. I'm assuming that nobody will mind having a link posted to their work because it's liked. If you do, then the relevant post must be removed. I don't think it's necessary to ask an author's permission before you recommend their work. If you do, then tell me, and we'll take it from there.

K, I'll start the ball rolling:

-The last fuck, goodbye by Colleen. - lesbian love tragedy, I guess a lot of you have already read this, but for those that haven't...

-Still born soldiers - by Lauren Hynde, another popular lit author, v short, poignant poem

So, anybody else read something that's really touched or moved them, or really turned them on? If so, please post away.

I LOVED this story. It has a Christmas theme, but be sure to bookmark it, dl, to go back to nearer Christmas. It is very nostalgic, poignant and beautifully written. It's a non-erotic story, but still one of the best at Lit, in my opinion.

When The Magic Almost Died by DirtMan.

Probably the best story on Lit. Of The Deepest Dye by Victoria Veiss. (Even better than mine)

Actually the second best ever, but the best ever is one I read when I first came to Lit. but I can't remember the title or author.

Wouldn't this be better in the "Story Feedback" area?

Yeah, I'm just a bit slow is all...Spend all my time here, so didn't even realise there was a Story feedback area. Ah well, I guess it doesn't really matter.

Lou and gauche - - thanks ;)

Colly and Gauche: K, I've read your suggestions, and yes, they're very good. I particularly liked the superhero one, very original.

Anybody else have any fave stories? I'm busy sifting at the moment, but haven't come across anything that quite merits a recommendation...

I recommend the entire 'Amy's Smile' series by jfinn, but not for those who require immediate gratification as the last chapter has yet to be posted. If you don't mind the wait, it is well worth it. Wonderfully written and beautifully comic.

tx guys,

Yeah, that's a pretty funny one by durtgurl, can almost feel the sarcasm dripping from her fingertips...

Just read one of TheSandMan's:

Magic Panties

- doesn't really need a recommendation, since it already tops the list in toys etc. Very good writing and originality.

Min: tx, I'm onto them, I figured Jfinn might have some good stuff based on her posts...

one of my favourite authors on the site

Apart from what's already been mentioned -

wildsweetone-

Loving - one of the best non-erotic stories I've read on the site, definitely the earliest of my favourite ones.

Tonight's the Night - I love the characters in this one. I feel like I know about them even when wso doesn't spend any time on telling us about them.

And finally, Lifeless - a rare occurence on the site. A daring, in-your-face story.

Thanks, dl, for starting this thread. While giving you these links, I just saw she has three new ones I haven't read. :)

Colleen -- thanks for the link to that supers story; I love superhero fiction!

In addition to many fine works already listed, I recommend anything by MlledeLePlumeBleu, whose stories are steamy and truly excellent.

I've also recently enjoyed the Holmes stories by farfromcd, andOg's Gulliver/Brobdingnag stories.

Well, I've decided to go the route of not posting anyone I have ever come in contact with on AH, those people know who they are already. I haven't actually read a lot, because, well, where the hell is the time? BUT . . .

Lesson Learned by Diablo writer . . . well written, and :), and if I recall, his only story - gay male genre.

hiya Lauren, tx for the posts ;)

ps
you were right, that poetry comp was a crock of shit...
