How to be a Genie: 12 Easy Steps, a romance by altar_ashes.

I came across this one by searching for "genie" stories. Who doesn't love genie stories. This is a wonderful one about an awkward college girl just trying to make it through her everyday life who comes to find out that she is really part genie. Due to a mishap, she ends up getting bound to the one guy in college who was ever really nice to her, even though she has no idea what kind of powers she has or how to access them and he has a jealous fiance.

Unfortunately, this is an unfinished series (since 2005) and only gets as far as the first "easy step." So it's like reading an author of antiquity from whom all we have is a fragment. But it's a sweet, delightful fragment, and you can't help but wonder how it might have gone on.

The Eavesdropping Daughter by Ahabscribe is well written and has an imaginative approach to the daughter discovering her parents fantasies.http://literotica.com/s/the-eavesdropping-daughter

A GOR-y Halloween Party by TXTall Tales A believable take on a Gor themed party. I wish he had done a sequel

A Mom-Daughter Swap: A Welcoming by silkstockinglover one of her better stories

Thors_Fist "Worlds Best Diet Plan or WBDP series and his current "A Taste of Slavery" series are both very well done especially as he has a deft hand at realistically addressing the concerns of balancing a loving marriage with exploring fantasy fulfillment. Great thread idea!

I found Lit a long time ago looking for stories to read, then was inspired to write some myself. A few I had submitted a while ago, before life got crazy, and I have more I am trying to finish off as I find time and inspiration. The overall caliber of stories here is really good, with something for everyone, and some are things you would never do in person, but being able to explore the what-if is exciting.

Case in point, after finding this thread I looked back over the stories I had marked as favorites over the years, and a common theme I noticed popping up a lot was the non-human category.

An oldie, but goodie: The Dryad by Armphid

I believe I had come across this one after an Earth Day competition.

Oh, this is easy!

ArmoryParks "The Burdens of Others". It's in BDSM category because there's a little bit of dominance and a tiny bit of bondage. But there's no violence (not in the sex). It's an interesting premise (the main female character is a doctor with an international aid organization working in a refugee camp). The plot is compelling, and her use of language is just fucking beautiful. It's three pages. It was, honestly, one of the first stories I read here that I didn't think "I coulda done that better". This was the story that made me think "Ok, this is what I aspire to."

Thanks for this thread, SD.

Recent stories that mesmerize me:

The First Five Hours by Belle Canzuto (and Catharsis by Belle is so good too)

Shadow and Light Pt. 01 by Poppy Dryden

Rebirth by Inkhorn

Shores of Tripoli by KeithD

I read/re-read these stories because they’re exceptional:

The Cave by Clunkety (Nonhuman, nonconsent)

It Didn’t Work Out by Ripley (Novels/Novellas)

Ain’t Budgin’ by midnightflux (Interracial)

Oh, Vix, you're too kind! Thank you for the shout out.

I very much enjoyed this one, even though I typically gravitate to stories involving Femdom, Fetish, or Lesbian Sex.

Vacation Pains by MsCherylTerra

It's very well-written and has a wonderful combination of characterization, plot, and sexy scenes.

When it comes to detailing some of the terrible things a Brother can do to his sister,
That Bloody Woman! by Androgynousother
is bloody good.
It also explains a lot about rape and the problems of being a victim in a military family.

I just saw a post by MeredithEighty8 which reminded me of her story

Black Country Man (Non-Con; 09/18/15)

Black Country Man is about Jack, a forty-something black man and his eighteen year old bride, Becca. Virginal and inexperienced, Becca learns to accommodate Jack physically and emotionally and Jack learns to soften himself for her, also physically and emotionally. An unwelcome horror destroys their idyllic happiness and they have to rebuild.

There seems to be very few stories about black protagonists on Literotica; not BBCs or interracial couplings or something else dimensionless and stereotyped where race merely plays to categorization or caricature, but just erotic fiction that happens to be about black people. And add the historical setting of a thriving turn-of-the-century black working class community and a blossoming romance between a virginal ingenues and her bullish husband, and MeredithEighty8 could quite possibly be the stand alone author on the site. Her spare narrative is vivid, cocky and masculine without becoming stilted, the romance is sweet and vivid without being flowery and the conflicts are natural, believable and powerful. At its heights, Black Country Man is reminiscent of Toni Morrison, Zora Neale Hurston, Mildred D. Taylor, Alice Walker, Virginia Hamilton, etc etc, if those storytellers wrote hot erotica.

Glad to see Vix revive this thread. To repeat the suggestion in my original post: Recommend a story by another author here. Post the link to it. Say why you recommend it. It's probably a good idea to include the category.

I have another recommendation: Culture Shock by Sir Nathan.

It's a novel-length (37 Lit pages) BDSM story. It was published way back in 2006, and to date it's one of the highest-rated, most favorited, and most viewed BDSM stories at Literotica.

Culture Shock is about a college student who becomes drawn into the world of BDSM. She meets a dom online, and he slowly -- very slowly -- seduces her into his world. What's interesting -- and, I think, very erotic -- about the story is that it's all about the seduction. Many kinky, sexy things happen in the story, but the process by which the main character is seduced into this unfamiliar world is taken seriously and slowly. Nowadays I almost never read erotic stories that are this long, but I remember being absorbed by it when I read it 10+ years ago (long before I became an author). This was one of those stories that made me interested in writing erotica, because it did what I became interested in doing, which was exploring how one became involved in a kink or fetish. So, I would say it was one of the most influential stories in guiding me ultimately to write erotic stories.

Unfortunately, Culture Shock was Sir Nathan's last published story at Literotica. He has some other good BDSM stories, and most of his stories were well rated.

Because it is a beautiful and unexpected treasure, and because he was so kind and supportive of me as a new writer, I highly recommend Bandit by YouDidWhut.

Have you read its prequel ?

"Sales Team" is another of my favorite stories on LIterotica, It has a superb plot while sex is of secondary importance in the story. Yet, it's one of the best, based on the number of votes and followers.

Here's a link: https://www.literotica.com/s/sales-team

I quite agree.

I only read Lesbian Sex but this one is the best I've read yet: https://www.literotica.com/beta/s/i-dare-you-19

I Dare You by bi-cathy

I didn't have an account yet when I commented on it but here's what I said as Anonymous:

A true 5 star story

The first story I've read on Literotica.com that truly rates 5 stars. An incredible seduction that starts slow and builds to a crashing climax...the literary equivalent of Ravel's Bolero. I look forward to reading your future submissions.

I am not reading as much as I used to. Here is an older one that is still a favorite: The Dressing Room: Bred in the Mall, by Avery Brazen. It is Non-con/Reluctance, and it really walks the line between between the two parameters. I generally gravitate toward the reluctance side of the equation, but this one is so hot I find myself coming back to it repeatedly.

The idea of a "Ménage a Troi" is long into fantasy-land.
Suppose, however, that the 'hero' ain't keen on the idea ?

Try: Joanne Sterns by markelly
He raises some interesting thoughts on whether adultery can be defined where the wife has it away with a woman.

Now See Karen Black: by markelly (it's in two parts).

The contrast between the two situations is very interesting.
