Recommend a book

Presently, I'm reading 'Underworld,' by Graham Hancock.

Nonfiction.

Stuff that makes you go 'Hmm . . .'

Oh tell me your Sci fi recommendations - please!

The Tomorrow File - Lawrence Sanders

It's a million seller, combination sci-fi and thriller, written back in the '80s.

Set in a future where all resources have been calculated and allocated, everything is planned and controlled by the global government. A couple has to run from the authorities who want them for having a forbidden love affair. Great concept of what a future economy might be like and a great story. Sanders is a good author.

Sure it's been mentioned, and if so, consider this a seconded endorsement:

Neuromancer. gotta read it if you're into sci-fi.

Boat of a Million Years. Poul Anderson. Also a great historical study.

Sphere. Michael Crichton. Forget the movie. It sucked ass.

Illwind. Can't remember the author, but the story was classically pre/post-apocalyptic.

And . . . anything by Orson Scott Card.
