Recidiva, how would you react was 100% WRONG

You would love The Ordeal of Change in which Hoffer demonstrates that true change is stifled by stability and it is only in time between the collapse of one order and the imposition of a new one that true innovation and invention is possible.

On the "edge" of the Mandelbrot set, you will see all the components of life that arise from cell division as you explore the set in various degrees of color based upon the iteration depth as the recursion works towards infinity making it easy to understand how biology is math-based; like the Matrix, we are bound by rules we do not as yet understand which is why Chaos is such an unappreciated arena of study.

"Fascinating"

:)

True change is not always wanted or necessary. I understand the idea, I'm just saying that the edge of stability represents conflict, which produces the change. Change isn't necessary if things are working.

There is no "edge" to the Mandelbrot unless it isn't being calculated properly.

Chaos is a great area of study, but it's not an admirable state of being. Chaos exists where stability hasn't been adequately established

It is an interesting subject, I just think you're using the concepts improperly.

I'm aware through Hawking that difference in form wouldn't even exist without chaos. But who's to say the Universe wouldn't be a better place if we were just a field of uniform plasma? Chaos is what resulted in who we are, but that's not to say who we are is the best of all possible worlds and we should keep on praising chaos for its creative powers instead of noticing it when it crops up as an area of instability of our own calculations.

Looks in on thread. Sees Reci. Waves. Attempts to read. Gets confused.

So~ telling someone to kill themselves is acceptable but threating to kill them is awful...or is this about racism?

Could it be about why people should not be allowed to have shot guns?

Fuck. Why do I ever leave the GB? I miss everything.

Hey honey!

No, as far as I understand, jen starts shit, people respond to shit, shit gets out of hand and nobody stops at a line of civility.

Sean recommended that jen put a shotgun in her mouth, Jen thinks that it's a death threat. I don't think Sean is a serial killer who is going to track jen down and kill her. I think she starts shit and then cries wolf (and not in the fun way you do) when she thinks she's "proven" her opposition is evil.

Rory thinks jen is a racist, but Rory thinks everyone is a racist and that's tangential and I don't really know anything about that.

Saying the world would be better if someone killed themselves is not a death threat. And people talking on a forum say silly things. Jen shouldn't involve the police or the FBI or the rest of the GB in attempting to humiliate Sean, who just says to her the stuff she says to other people.

I think you should kill someone who tries to kill you and I'd be irritated if you tried to take away my shotgun because obviously, I need it in a world with crap like this.

I've said what needed to be said, no value for me to continue this. You and the others know you are wrong and that is why you nuts need to spin this how ever you need to

Please continue

Translation "I'm not going to post the actual conversation because in review, it kinda makes me look like a douche."

By edge, I mean pools of relative stability that form when one examines the behavior of complex calculations as they seek infinite instability.

No, I think you are misusing the word chaos to mean the Science Chaos. The weather is Chaos, so it the market and the economy.

Chaos says that plasma cannot be uniform, that a uniformity must exist and if a uniformity can exist, everything can exist. If plasma were uniform, it would not be plasma. Our calculation and and stability are mere subsets of Chaos; that "edge" which you say does not exist and which I say I enjoy exploring.

:)

You and 4est have the utterly bestest conversations...

Now I have to excuse myself...your response made me hawt.

Okay...thank you. NOW I know what's going on.

Telling someone to kill themselves is NOT the same as threatening to kill them.
(One hopes that people wouldn't do that in the real world but, as we all know, tis much easier to say hateful shit on a porn board than it would be to do it in real life)

Rory is awesome sauce but I do wish he would stop tormenting the racists.

Also I agree with your last paragraph oh and by the way how ya doin?

Then I'd need you to use it in a sentence.

Am not!

You don't know Hawking's theory and you don't watch Mystery Men, and I don't know what to do with you!

Best thing to come from the thread yet!

Yes, I think there's a bark and bite theory. Bark is a warning and noise. Bite is different. Bark at me all you want. Bite me and I'll do my best to take you down. Saying it to you that way makes it sound dirty, and I'm okay with that.

Rory thinks I'm a racist 'cause I talk to racists. The only time I ever see him is when he pops in to quote a thread from up to four years ago or so and calls as many people a racist as he can and then stomps about as if we were talking about racism to begin with. We weren't.

I'm good! Watching the Olympics, playing video games on my day off, having bizarre tangential conversations with many people online, life is good. I'm about to make lunch and it's gonna be some sort of yummy though I don't know what it is yet. You?

Most people hear Chaos and think, oh, I get it, random. I see Chaos as the certainty that there is a stable unifying theory of everything because Chaos is everything, but it is most certainly not random, for in a chaotic system, such as our current society, the events of each day are not mere independent random occurrences for their seed is yesterday and its seed is the day before and its seed is the day before that ... ∞

Thus, this sentence is a chaotic outcome.

Now, Jen's sentences may truly be random... :nods: ;) ;)

...every time you've talked to me pretty much. I've been back two weeks and the only thing I've heard from you is how I still talk to Ginny (she's not here so I can't say I would or wouldn't) and still talk to JBJ (I do) and that makes me morally suspect.

I just find you intrusive and one note. If you're otherwise an interesting person with a flair for fun conversation, I don't ever get to see it. So I can only deal with what I see.

Rory thinks he may be the only non-racist in the Universe.

I think he was invented by Kilgore Trout just to astound us.

Fuck me if I don't absolutely adore the utter hell outta you.

(And yes it sounded utterly dirty and I am completely FINE with that)

My 2 cents on racism~ I deal with enough real life racism, sexism, homophobic reactions that dammit I refuse to debate it on a porn board...

At work (shhh) using my lap top to play on Lit and listening to CNN all whilst dreaming of a double cheddar burger...medium rare...

*le sigh* other than that? Awesome!

It's not my fault if you learned something new and I didn't :D

smart ass!
*pokes*

It does in my book.

But I didn't say it made you a racist. In the thread where I first brought it up, the idea was posed as a question.

Talking to JBJ does make you suspect of something but it might just be a very high tolerance for crazy.

C'mon guys you're doing great, put your backs into it. If we all work together Jen might be the first person to leave Lit for having too many people on ignore!

No, I've done a lot of research in the field of chaos. The Hawking thing is about the introduction of chaos after the Big Bang. How if matter had dispersed in a completely uniform sense, there would be only uniformity. Only a few particles not being uniform allowed for the first instances of matter clumping together and creating separate forms and shapes from the original mass. It's cool math.

Without that, we wouldn't be here at all. I'm just saying us being here at all is not the "proof" of that being a good idea :D

You're discussing mechanics, which I get, but I think you're applying in a fanciful way to show that chaos = creation. Uniformity is also creation. They express themselves differently. Chaos results in different forms. Those forms are not necessarily more creative or more positive morally.

So I reject the idea that chaos is a positive force. It just...is.

I don't believe in creation.

What is always was and always will be (eternally changing).

World without end, amen. AMEN.

;) ;)

As Michio says, if there was one big bang, then there are many big bangs...

I adore you also. Can't help it.

Yup. I will argue about it online and I'll say that racism in a human being doesn't define the entire human being...but it's just ideas. I am neither saving the world nor destroying it, I'm just moving words around and maybe people move thoughts around in their head as a result, good or bad.

Yay! Oh. That's what I'm having for lunch then. I have all the fixins.

I find that being a dumbass attracts a less awesome conversational partner.
