I want to receive a package but I don't want to get it at home or at work. I've looked into retail mailbox places and it's usually a long-term commitment for a $200-300 per year. There has to be a simpler way. Right?

Have it sent to a friends house. That's the only option left after work home and a mailbox.

Though I am not understanding why it can't be sent to your house or work, at work they don't open the boxes, at least I hope they don't and generally home they won't do that either and of course, you live at home so it's going to end up there anyway.

Well, if you are afraid to have it sent home or to work it is either drugs or some form of pornography that is forbidden at your house.

If he's ordering dope, sending it to a friend's house isn't smart or legal. If it's porn, then either this guy still lives at home with mommy, or he isn't "in charge" when it comes to wearing the pants in the family.

You might be able to have it sent to yourself at the post office, care of your post office. Tell them you're ordering a surprise gift for your spouse and ask if you could pick up a package there instead of having it delivered to your home, how the sender should address it, etc.

Since plenty of people pick up missed mail, packages and larger boxes there, it shouldn't be an issue.

Or it could be sex toys that he doesn't want a partner or nosy family member to find out about, or something from the person he's cheating on his partner with.

Yeah, the reason probably isn't on the up-and-up, but apart from the liability issue of having drugs sent to someone else's home/work and similar issues, said reason is unlikely to be relevant or have an impact on the answers he receives.

Knew a dude one time, back in the day, that had 40 LBS of pot shipped to him Via Greyhound bus, addressed to his work place . He picked it up at the bus terminal.

That was some good shit!:)

How about delivering it to your post office, as SweetErika suggested? I've done that several times (nosy roommates).

Or if there's a signature option on the package, then it will go to the post office (or distribution centre) and you can pick it up there if no one's home to sign for the package (at least over here, and if that's an option).

"Forbidden"

As if no adult person has legitimate sexual desires that they might legitimately not want to share with everyone in their household.

Maybe they have roomates, you bougie twat? Maybe this is a gay person who is not "out"?

Illiterotica strikes again.

You are simply not familiar with reality.

Most post offices will accept a package sent to you at "General Delivery" and you can pick it up (with identification) later on. But you may have to call ahead and ask if this service is available.

Via UPS to the local UPS Store near you. Obviously, you need the local store's address at the time you place the merchandise order. The local store charges about $5 to hold and have you pickup there.

Your email confirmation of delivery let's you know it's arrived. They usually will hold for 5 days before returning.

Just what I was going to suggest. Just make sure you call and confirm you can pick a package up. Around here, not all UPS store's will accept packages.

A mailbox at our local post office costs $22 for six months. Have you checked yours?

There's no reason to go to one of those retail mailbox places. They overcharge for everything.
