MMX registers are aliased on the floating-point registers, so you should clear the MMX state with the EMMS instruction intrinsic before issuing an x87 floating-point instruction. PM me for an example.

MMX instructions are 64-bit packed integer SIMD operations that operate on 8, 16, or 32-bit operands. The SSE instructions are 128-bit packed IEEE single-precision floating-point operations. The Pentium 4 processor adds new forms of 128-bit SIMD instructions called SSE2. The SSE2 instructions support 128-bit packed IEEE double-precision SIMD floating-point operations and 128-bit packed integer SIMD operations. The packed integer operations support 8, 16, 32, and 64-bit operands.
