Well, this has been a bumpy ride so I wonder if anyone would read “reality” stories. People are have had to faced hard times and over come them, or would these stories be just to depressing?

On a positive spin, what if a couple loses their home and move in with friends? This type of story could open things up?

well, look at the popularity of Extreme Makeover Home edition... everybody loves a happy ending :D

that's true! not sure why, the more I think about some story lines, the more I get confused. need to stop thinking about stuff and just do it

That's been so true for me, too, lately. :( I've been working on a lil series (none posted yet...I wanted to have the first three chapters ready to submit together) where the first two chapters came quickly to me and now I'm struggling somewhat.

My mind splits into a million directions with ideas, and then I seem to lose interest for a while. :(

That’s why I love coming here, like you said in another post on sharing ideas and having discussions. What I desperately crave is a coffee shop setting to share and build on ideas with others. I love to bounce ideas off others and see where it goes. Like you said, one idea can splinter into a million different directions

I am currently writing a series of stories bases on that premise. The first, "Desperate Measures: The Fluffer" is my most read story. With any luck, the second entry will be up by the end of next week. I have at least two more stories to follow in this anthology. I'll let you know if there is any push back.

Well, that is the kind of idea that can go in all kinds of directions. But generally speaking an happy ending would make most readers quite happy, even more if both the hard part and the way out are done well. What kind of problem does the character(s) have?

Having had a sister-in-law go through desperate times: When she was in Texas, when the real estate market crashed in 2007-2008, she resorted to desperate measures to make ends meet.

To write about the over-coming of them and becoming better IS something people love to read. Look at the popularity of Harlequin romances. THough fictional, they do give people hope. To have reality seep into overcoming harship would make it better.

Stories based on reality can be just as interesting as those that are made up. To me, the best stories are the ones that sound like they could have really happened or where 90 percent of the story is believable and only a little of it sounds exceptional.

Some of the stories I've written have been loosely based on actual experiences I've had, with enough of the details changed to make them interesting to someone reading them.

living where we do, its really strange. to take a little drive and just see empty retail shops, abondoned communities that were started during the peek of the real estate boom and to watch how quickly mother nature can take the land back.

to see how many people have struggled to keep their homes. to see how many have fallen to booze or pills. yikes, this sounds horriable.

in some says, the bottom is hard, then things can slowly rebuild and then a happy ending.

guess have to be careful not to make the story too depressing

how hard did she have to fight? I'm curious what you mean about desperate measures. feel free to email/pm me if you care to talk about that

thanks! and we must always protect the guilty

guilt?
what's that????

well, when someone is naughty, they most likely don't enjoy reading about it. i.e. I've watched many coworkers have affairs and while they had a "fun" time, I have to protect their spouses from finding out

That's true. People want to do what they do, but they don't necessarily want to hear about it.

Just don't make it sexual reality, such as a woman who is traumatized and injured by being raped by her father about every other day, as opposed to a woman traumatized and injured by her father beating her about every other day.

well, I'm not a fan of family fun stories or rape

well true.

I was also thinking along the lines of that movie with Jennifer Love Hewett, where she gives massages with a happy ending. so where a couple goes from straight lace to, doing what they have to do to make ends meet.

turn off, or turn on? (for the reader)

for me when it comes to stories, i love a real edge-
in any category
realness in the plotline and most importantly
realness in the dialogue- talking the way people actually talk

just having real honest dialogue, with the right pauses, and umms, and pardon what?'s really take it to reality for me

I've been here too long and listening to "readers" so I worry that I'm out of touch

"Have you ever felt fresh, down there."

I guess it's a common fantasy, but I'd love to see my straight, vanilla girlfriend seduced and stolen away by a lesbian and totally transformed. Her new mistress would change her clothes, her hair and even her body with tattoos to proclaim her new lesbian identity. Part of her new service could include pleasing women less than conventionally beautiful too.
