Real Life is a story but it takes decades to tell, sometimes a century or more. And the pace is slow, most of the time. The exciting parts (sex, getting charged by a buffalo, auto accidents, etc.) are incidents. That's why Stella is right. We use real life but it doesn't have enough plot.

That's a joke for the most part.

Any author brings some of his or her real life to stories. it can't be help unless the story is so far out that it has to go in Scifi or such. Even then, the writers real life experience is there in the characters and how they act/respond.

Just my take anyway.

If you want real life stories, try my "Memories Of" series. they are more vignettes but they are all true. or as true as my old memory lets them be.

Is a "real story" the same as a "true story"? Because all of my stories are "real" in the sense that they are really written and really exist and can really be read and (hopefully) enjoyed. They just aren't all true.

If you are looking for "true" stories, read some of my "On The Road" series. They are mostly true. All but the sex.

Running the risk of seeming rude, but this is a fiction site. There may be elements of real life involved in some stories, but in the main real life is rather prosaic and dull.

The readers are looking for sex, excitement, adventure...that sort of thing.

Readers Digest has excellent true life stories, but no sex.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you looking for "true" stories? Or are you looking for stories that are "real" in the sense that they have plot, conflict, character development, drama, comedy and all the other "real" story components?
