Off topic - so sue me.

I have read Stephen King's The Stand (unabridged and abridged) close to fifty times. A few years back they did a TV mini-series on it. Those were not MY characters (came close with one or two). So I was disappointed to say the least.

I've read it probably 25 times and I felt the same way about the mini-series too, teacher. King just did such an incredible job with developing the characters in that book that the reader does feel they know them all personally.
