Comments are rather less common than votes.
One rule of thumb says a story will get one vote per hundred reads and one comment per thousand.
In any case, if you go to your Stories page and look at one story. Far to the right, in the margin, will be a gear wheel (allowing you to manage comments and votes) and a fork-tailed tag (lists). If there is a third symbol, a bubble, you have comments. If there is no bubble, the story has received no comments.
You can always test it by commenting yourself. They take a few hours to go up.
