The Annual Readers Choice Awards need votes, otherwise some of the categories could be decided by miniscule numbers, particularly in the less popular categories.

Please check, read, and vote.

But not for me in Reviews and Essays. I don't need another W on that one.

Okay, I will go and vote. Are you aware this is September, 2011 and we will be voting on a contest from almost a year ago? If they could get this going in Jate Jan. or in Feb., there would be a lot more interest.

I know. It took me some time, and a friendly PM, before I even knew I'd been nominated in a category.

I didn't know about me, either. I often don't. I find it too annoying to keep checking.

I think some people have been discouraged on voting by the landslide amount by which one author is winning just about every one of the "special"categories they qualify for.

Not that that should be a reason you should vote regardless just to show support. Everything I have voted for thus far-except for author- is a losing cause, but I still vote.

Not many readers care about the awards.

I'm not sure what can be done to rectify this.

Know what? you are absolutely right! I mean we cannot even get most of them to take two seconds to vote on a story after they have just read it, never mind the herculean effort to log in go to a thread and vote on a contest.

another thing is many readers (especially incest and Loving wives) are anonymous and can;t vote anyway and they are not going to set up an id to do so.

These people are spoiled they get an incredible assortment of great stories by talented authors for free why should they do anything.

what kills me is the favorites pages. Now these people-who are registered users- put an author on a fav's pge which to me says they read most of their work

last check Jaz cullen is on 1800 or so and alwayswantedtoo is on 2200+ yet as of last I looked they have less than 60 votes each for the author category.

Boils down to sheer laziness.

Sounds like USA elections. Barely 60% of eligibles bother to vote. Now if the candidates were sexier--nah, forget it.
