Lit is all about stories, pictures, audios and what not ? We here interact with hundreds of people daily and share pictures on various threads, PMs etc. Some want to stay anonymous and some are happy to reveal their identity to all or to a few, with whom they are close to. If this is the case, if you want to stay anonymous here but still want to share pictures and videos. You gotta consider some things before sharing them anywhere on the internet. You might know this or you might not.

So, there's something called "EXIF data" to most of our pictures. Which includes the date, time, place where we took that picture. That also includes the smartphone model that you used to take the pictures and many other user data like such. If you are uploading/sharing pictures directly from your gallery this data can be accessed. If you are using any apps to proceess the pictures then most of the apps remove this data. Maybe not all apps would do this.

Now how do we avoid or erase such EXIF data ? Simple. There are lots of apps on playstore and app store like "EXIF data remover" and many, which helps you in removing all the related user data. So make sure to erase it all and then upload/share your pictures.

Be cautious, Stay safe, stay Lit and be sexy.

Hey beethebumble69, good info!

Let me ask you this. If I copy a pic off the web, save it to photos, then edit it or just post it directly, does the EXIF data show?

So far this is all I have done, But I’d like to eventually share a photo from some I’ve taken myself. I heard IMIGUR has changed. That was a popular one on Lit.

Can you recommend any of the apps? Thanks in advance! HDH

If the photos that you take from web, contains EXIF data, then that data of that particular image will be shown. If you download this and upload from your gallery, that EXIF data will be shown but not yours.
But when you take a picture from your phone's camera and if location services and other permissions are granted/are allowed then all the EXIF data related to you will be shown and can be accessed by others who receives your pictures. But if you process them through any of the apps like photo editors or EXIF remover, then the EXIF data will be eraced. Not all photo editors will remove the EXIF data. So make sure to download any of the EXIF removers. Try "EXIF eraser" if you are on Android.

Thanks for the info. I’m an apple geek so it’s all iPad all the time. Thanks again and I’ll go check out one of those apps.

Yo sure do your research and find the best way possible to erace the EXIF
I don’t mess around! 😉

This is good info so thought I’d help and maybe get some examples out so it’s a one stop shop. Hopefully got some people who have used some of these to respond with pros/cons.

Oh yeah that's always appreciated. Share so that others find it easy. Respect that. Would definitely request others to share their opinions and experiences related to such apps
