Hi,
I just had my first erotically themed story---The Object Lesson--- posted yesterday, December 1st. So far I've had over ten thousand people view it, with 102 casting votes.
I'd be interested to find out how these numbers stack up against other first-time writers.
Originally, I submitted my story as fitting within the catagory of non-consensual sex, though I also felt it was equally at home in the incest and wife-watching genres. When finally posted, it was listed beneath the incest banner.
I guess my biggest concern is that readers primarily intersted in these other catagories---non-consensual, wife-watching, etc---will miss it.
I'd appreciate any feedback from writers who've been in this situation.

Ten thousand views and 102 votes in 24 hours is extraordinarily high, at least from my perspective.

My most-viewed story was posted last March and has 49000 views and 148 votes. It's in the non-consent category.

It's generally conceded that that stories in the incest category get the most views.

That's extremely high I would think. My first story has been up for a couple of weeks and has only accrued 36 votes (not even enough at this point for the monthly contest... not sure if the cutoff time for those is the end of the month or the 15th of the next.) It has 2,584 views.

My holiday story is faring slightly better, though I think it is just because contest stories get more attention. It has been posted for about half a week and has gathered 59 votes and 6,317 views.

Both of the stories had been adverstised here in the SF forum and also in the AH.

Of course, I don't know what the norm is for stories in the Incest category. I haven't written any of those.
