I hope you're not right about this. In my world, the Doors are forever open! People who try and change their music to something else in my house are simply not invited back.

Very strange.....a couple of weeks back there was a satire site that had a fake article about Mazarek's death with all these fictional quotes....then two weeks later, he actually does die.

People on Facebook were posting about his death, and lots of people were yelling "quit passing that along, it's a fake"!

Then the "official notice" went on the Doors website yesterday afternoon, and people complained over there, and they took the notice down! Then it was put back up last night.

It's only a matter of time before some skrillex version of their greatest hits is played endlessly on commercial radio and causes your brain to explode.

He created and WAS the sound of the Doors.
They used to hire bass players and he would tell then, "No, No. It must be done THIS way." And he often just played the kbd bass himself.
Love the Door's and their unique sound and rythm.
