Rating bomb

The voting stuff is hard. I ran through five books in my series, with every chapter 4.5+ ... then, all of the sudden, with book six? Someone has gone in and systematically 1-bombed the four chapters to push the ratings well below 4. It's petty and stupid, and it's almost kind of funny, in a way -- who would take the time to almost every day drop a 1-star vote in? It'll probably get purged, and if they're being sophisticated enough to cover their tracks ... what a waste of time!

If it really bothers you, you could always drop a comment asking for the voter to explain, though that's unlikely to get a result. You could also just turn off voting. That's what I did because I felt it wasn't being representative, and maybe taking away that itch from a 1-bomber would help it stop.

Bottom line, is it's a great reminder that you have to really believe in what you create. And you can get a great deal of satisfaction connecting with appreciative readers instead.
