Rare bird last seen in Britain 22 years ago reappears

Our deserts and mountains are full of the ugly pieces of shit.
Oh, grow up. There's plenty of manmade crap muddling the scenery.

I'm not sure why the manufacturers don't put reflective paint on wind turbine blades?
Any orchadist will tell you that putting reflective things in fruit trees deters birds, so why wouldn't it work on turbine blades?

One of the reasons that rare birds die is that they have strayed from their natural habitat and feeding areas. Some are already weak, which is why they were blown so far off course. Of course this one might have flown into the wind turbine having been frightened by the crowd of twitchers who can appear in hundreds.

The usual culprits for killing unusual bird species are domestic cats, who sense weakness.

Most wind turbine blades are light-coloured or white. Most healthy birds can see and avoid them. Our local wind farms have killed some sea birds because the fish congregate around the bases out of the way of trawlers, and the birds follow the fish. In certain weather conditions I can see over 500 off shore wind turbines from my house. The number of birds killed by them is fewer than are killed by local road traffic.

Pheasants have no road sense.
