You can bet that somebody in Miami will spin it that way.

Oh well. At least it isn't August.

I've put some in a match box and mailed it to you, should be with you by Easter.

I saw that on the news, figured you were running too many power tools or something.

Nope. Wasn't R. Castor at all. I was cause by the NSA computers overloading the system spying on innocent American's emails.

That makes me feel so much safer.

This is what the Communists want you to believe. Don't be so gullible.

The New York Philharmonic is in North Korea. Coincidence? Ha.

Oh, I forgot. Shrub said there is no domestic spying operations. Then The "Dick" Chaney said there was. Then Shrub reiterated there wasn't. Then the NSA chief and the Attoney General said there was but it was totally legal. Then the White House issued a paper that blamed the Clinton Adminstration. Then...

There is no such thing as "too many power tools."

Lucky for me, my reciprocating saw is cordless. If there's a sudden sawing emergency during Florida's electrical power crisis, I'm the go-to girl.

Ha! But what about recharable, cordless vibrators. Those are a "MUST HAVE" in case of emergency.

LOL - Just a kiss - lol  I thought "they" (albeit I thought only fascists were left in the world) were infiltrating the Bush Administration via the Britney Spears scare these days and not via the NY Philharmonic.

Well, the rest of the world blames us for everything. I guess blaming Raoul for the blackout is just being fair.

I am SO grateful not to be stuck in an elevator like so many other people. Especially those public parking-garage elevators that double as public urinals.

Corporate public relations - speak from Florida Power & Light:

They haven't pinpointed the cause of this nearly state-wide power outage, but are assuring us that "the system worked properly."

That's a relief!

So everything worked perfectly and 2 nuclear reactors shut themselves down and no one knows why. I'm sure that gave everone in Florida the warm fuzzies all over, right?

Well, except those few people in the aforementioned public urinal-elevators. But you can't please everyone.

The current reading is that there was a failure at a power substation and the resulting voltage drop caused the nuclear reactors to shut down as a safety measure. There is nothing wrong with the reactors and power is being restored.

Hmmmmm, I never noticed the loss of power until my neighbors started coming outside and complaining.

A) I was outside working on the bike.
B) I have the windows open and the A/C shut down.

My neighbors on the other hand had all retreated inside to avoid the 85 degree temps. in their Air Conditioned Trailers. (Hey to me 85 degrees is as close to heaven as one can get. If you can't deal with that why are you living in Florida?)

The only problem I had with the loss of power was having to reset all of the blasted clocks. What a pain in the butt that was.

Cat

So everything worked perfectly and 2 nuclear reactors shut themselves down and no one knows why.

They know there was fire at a substation in South Miami. They know that a switch failed to disconnect the substation from the rest of the grid. They know that the failure of this switch caused the nuclear reactors to shut down, which keeps the reactors from firing nukes at China. What they don't know is why the disconnect-switch failed, or what started the fire.

But that's the beauty of a system that works perfectly. Nobody needs to know why it failed.
