Do you ever feel like going back and taking two random characters from your earlier storiers and just slamming them together to see what happens?

Or maybe I just need more sleep.

This is an excellent idea. In my latest story I have a crossover where one character is staying at the same motel on the same night as another character from another story, (the second character's distinctive car is in the parking lot) but a more face-to-face meeting might be fun!

I think Heinlein did that a lot! Especially in his later, post-senility works.

In my stories, I pretty much always use the same handful of characters (with different names but basically the same people) so it wouldn't be very interesting.

In all my stories there are crossovers, and I have several WIP that mix and match characters

I didn't intentionally, yet thought it was such a good Idea that I tied them all together into the JAA or John Abernathy Adventures. They were each a separate story, but had all the same characters in them...

JAA Ch. 01: Aftermath There are six, but the last one lacks the series designator Winds of Change

In the note there is a list and in what order they should be read. Winds of Change is last.

When I started writing them I didn't even think about them being in a series together. I was just writing and liked the characters so much I wrote multiple stories about them.

I don't think I have ever taken a character from one story and put them with another character from a different story in a third story together. I'll have to think about that one.

I've been wondering what would happen if Sally, the naive farm girl that learned about all sorts of sex in the Grandpa, Wake Up series, went off to college and met the prof from Santa ate My Homework , or babysat for the prof and his wife from She-male Babysitter , who would have to invite Michelle, their transgender babysitter/lover over to "show Sally the ropes".
