Which Path

The path through life is long
rocky and twisting
the one you choose seems right
when in fact may be wrong.

Every day the choices you make
can be easy or hard
not questioning the way you go
or the path you take.

Following it is so rough
scary and alone
making decisions time after time
deciding alone is tough.

Which path is right for you
so many out there
the one you go with
will make your heart feel new.

That is an insightful observation, Lynn.

I so enjoy your poetry. :D

A void as big as a canyon
missing in a life;
a gaping cavern
deep and wide, a huge hole
leaving one empty and sad;
so easy for some to see it all
filling in the spaces;
hopes and dreams shared
cracking outer layers;
a narrow tunnel
a glimpse at flickering lights;
choosing to follow the same old path
masked and lonely instead.

This is a wonderful poem of feeling and passion. The pain is palpable. The author is most perceptive.

The emotion comes through very clearly.

I always wonder if it can be felt by others.
This appears to have been successful. :rose:

A turning point
in your life;
dreams,
elusive, out of reach;
rainy days,
hopes are gone;
smiles sad;
empty canisters

I really like this. The empty canisters symbolize a lack of the things that made the home I grew up in nice and homey.

A friend, to lean on,
like a brick wall;
always there, just call a name.
Solid and steady,
a rock.
My anchor in a storm,
hold on tight.
A wheel turned,
changing roles.
Lean on Me.

Strength

Choices made, today,
to open a door,
reach for a hand,
ask for help;
still strong,
not a sign of failure;
all alone,
it was right

Standing tall,
Like a tree in the wind,
Your spirit guides,
Lets me not fall.

Anchored deep,
Like a rock in the soil,
Your soul leads,
Lets me not weep

Flowing so far
Like the sands of the desert,
Your love strengthens,
And holds my heart.

This is so beautiful :rose: :kiss: Thank you for sharing it.

Cold, I'm so cold
a block of ice
frozen;
unlock my heart
sunshine
heat, passion and love;
brighter days
hot air balloons
flying high and free.

Weakness
tears falling
standing alone
a dandelion
fighting
always returning
surviving.

Not like Fool's, but meaningful anyway

Yesterday
I held your hand
touched your cheek
you saw me there
next to you
while you went to sleep
watching you
near your side.

Today
you knew
I was at your side
looked in your eyes
your hand in mine
when you woke up
saw me there
with you.

Tonight
I saw you
close your eyes
touched your face
as you slept
my body there
at your side
touching you.

Tomorrow
see me there
again, still
always
at your side.

That's sweet! Very beautiful. :rose:

We do not know how the Creator created, [or] what processes He used, for he used processes which are not now operating anywhere in the natural universe.

Beauty

Ode to pretentiousness

'Poem written, never rhyming,
Punching midgets, cellists sighing,
I once saw a truck, rushing fast and swift
It tried to swerve, it tried to shift,
But it failed thusly and hit me it did,
Flung me skyward as it buckled and skid,
I landed hard, kissing flesh with asphalt,
The driver begged, citing his fault,
I kicked that bitch right in the junk,
Watched him cower, watched as he shrunk
Chocolate sunshine then filled me; I felt the sudden rush,
Dropped two stinky paratroopers, didn't bother to flush,
My poem ends here, pointless as it was,
You dumbass, you read it, now give me applause.'
