A tremendous amount of time and space has been expended on the "trolls". I do not think "troll" fits them however. I propose we rename them "pustules".

It is a much more appropriate name as it a small tumor type of thing that spews pus on everything when squeezed. At it's core is foul neucrotic matter much like the heart of said trolls.

Furthermore they can blight the appearence of beauty erupting suddenly and silently. Yes I think boil or pustule is much more an appropriate name.

It certainly gives one a different visual image of these people who are mean. <yuck>

Better much better. Yes, I like that. Thank you.

I was going to have dinner, but think I shall pass now. But I think it's a perfect description.

I love the name Pustule! That's what I think I'll call the "terrible troll" from now on since her multiple identities are so confusing. Yes indeed, a malignant Pustule.

Why stop with Pustule?

If you tire of this one, there's always...

Macule, Papule, nodule, vesicle, bulla, wheel, plaque, cyst, scaly, fissure...

There's a whole medical vocabulary out there just waiting...

:)

What I find interesting is the fact a web community I visited a short while ago referred to the founders of the site as Trolls. To them it was a mark of distinction to be called a Troll. Then I arrive here and suddenly trolls are treated as lepers. Strange world we live in...

I find a bit surprising the vehemence of reactions to this subject and happily end my participation with this rather innocuous observation. Have fun everybody.

By the by, I've known porcupines I'd rather snuggle up with than quite a number of individuals on this board. ;)

Good point... WAY BACK when the people who created and administered one of the original chat sites - Bianca's Lounge - were called trolls. "Bianca and her Trolls" - it was an honor to be a Troll there.

DevilmayCare don't know you but suggest you withhold your value judgements until you know everyone a bit better.

Dillinger what was the point. My suggestion was to rename them with a more appropriate title.

I'll second that. I am amazed by the volume of postings concerning this. I am having a hard time finding these excessively unacceptable "troll" messages while wading through all the gripes. (I did see the ones in the poem thread. That was mighty horrible and I understand the anger that was expressed. As for others, I'm not seeing much to bother about.)

The general hostilities that are expressed here are mystifying!
(It does seem to be a venture into sociology, though!)

A but pustules don't lurk under bridges (or around BBs) to attack the unwary. They are merely one aspect of troll-ness.

I tend to think of Trolls as a collection of pustules gathered about a heart of stone and a brain the size of a rotten pea.

DevilMayCare, you may know a little bit about trolls but I doubt you know much about a Pustule. But stay tuned. I love that word! Pustule!
