When was the last time you did something nice?

Anything from designated driver, pulling a drunk lady friend away from a He-Beast, or pushing a child molester down an elevator shaft?

I reached out to a lady who was down on herself and I said some words that were from my heart. She knew I wasn't trying to scoop her up on the rebound. I just reminded her how special she is.

I gave a kid a $200.00 Bob Burnquist skateboard after twisting my damned ankle. My original inclination was to break it over my knee, but this kid was sharing a skateboard with another kid, so I just gave him my virtually new one.

I spared the life of the little shit who beaned my truck with a snowball.

Im doing something nice right now. Despite the fact that I had plans today I am watching my friends little girl. My friend is 1 hour and 45 minutes late im coming to get her. I'm going to be nice and not yell at her either when she gets here.

I volunteered my husband to plow the neighbors drive after our last snowstorm. :)

Aw - that is nice!:rose:

I let my worktudy student leave an hour earlie so she could spend extra time with her new husband! I remember those days!

:rose:

I volunteerd to spend part of my vacation this week helping a few of my students proofread and spiff up their college application letters.

I thought that was pretty damn nice of me.

I do nice things all the time. Lately I have been feeling like not being so nice for a while. Tired I guess.

Oh man, I was the Al Capone of snowball warfare when I was young. We had flanks set up in case someone missed. We had specific targets. Male, sports car, that was our profile. We had 83 snowballers covering a 12 mile area.

Key posts were at the bowling alley, local bar, country club (they kept the bar open in winter) and Mrs. Perguerniaki's house.

I got caught once by some drunk driver. I slipped in the chase. He caught me and said he was gonna kick my ass. I smelled his breath and said "you kick MY ass, you're lookin at 5 years" he let me go.

We snowballed his car as he tried to pull away. He couldn't get out of our path, his distributor cap was missing. He sat in his car all night until the towtruck came.

I picked up my neighbors dog after it was run over by a car and bagged it up so she wouldn't have to see it. Then I informed her of the tragedy....

I let an employee leave work a few hours early to get a head start on driving for a weekend trip.

I got a collection company off a patient back today... he didn't owe the money anyway... the medical center billed the wrong insurance company... and they were telling him that he owed $20,000.00 +... the poor man had been trying to take care of it on his own for months and was at his wits end...

Was standing in a Puter shop. Looking for a network card.
After talking to the owner for about 30 minutes he gave me a 10/100 PCI NIC card for free.

Blew my mind.

The last really big thing I did was volunteer to work late on Christmas eve so my co-workers could start Christmas celebrations with their families. It didn't work out though. :(

I do what I consider 'small' things all the time. Today, to keep one of the casino's from being inconvenienced, I allowed them to send their employees down in small groups to get certified. It was a bitch for me to keep track of everything but it made it easier for them and that's what counted. I think that's what gave me my headache today. :D

It's part of who I am to want to make at least one person smile or laugh every day. RAKs are rewarding to do and fun to receive.

I'm one of those little things people.

I like to give people a hand every chance I get at work and go that extra mile to make my patients and their families comfortable.

That ranks very high in my book.

I gave a special child (Give Kids the World - resort for children with terminal illnesses) a better toy than they actually won at the carnival game I work at. Actually, I do that almost every day. The warm fuzzies equal seeing the smile on the kid's and the parent's face.

Okay, and I bought lunch for a (an unknown) co-worker who I will likely never see again (a couple thousand people work in the park daily): she didn't have cash with her, and I had a couple of extra bucks. I figure it was payback for the person who bough me a newspaper when I had no quarters on me for the newspaper vending box and I was desperate for something to read.

I am the queen of nice. It's quite nauseating.

But it makes the world a more pleasant place. :)

My goal is to treat people with the utmost of care, respect, kindness and manners. All people.

Since I'm human, however, I fuck up sometimes.
