forty-eight years ago I entered this life ... tonight I bought myself pizza, drank a few beers, played pool - poorly - against a gentlemanly Arab, came home alone

forty-eight years ... many times the Earth has passed around the Sun ... many more the Moon has passed around the Earth

surrounded by eleven million humans yet five hundred feet above the ground alone with my pillows ... it is what it is ... life is good, regardless
