Raising the minumum wage WORKS! End POVERTY WAGES!!!!!!!

1 Fact. Germany has no Legislated minimum wage.

2 Which is the most successful economy in the EU?;)

I've been known to do that. People who don't normally think for themselves report migraines the first time they try.
So you invented the tripe of progressive thought all on your own sitting beside Walden;s pond, did you?

"Thinking for yourself" should only be attempted after you fill your head with information to think about. It is most effective if if you the actual capacity to reason.

You pulled your own numbers out of thin air instead of using the numbers provided in the article.

I never said nor does the article say she's unhappy. Instead of discussing facts you're making things up.

I never said she's better off

I used your numbers of $7.25 and $15 in one of my exhaustive examples. I did not use the "full-time" status that you assumed from thin air. You don't seem to know how management of employees with tasks of indeterminate length and mandates from corporate not to pay overtime works.

Once overtime is forbidden, management pays a lot of attention to the time clock and scheduling. There is no "Oops!" Alice clocked out a little latter than we planned on 3 days last week.

Walmart got in serious trouble for making employees clock out "on time" when there was still work going on.

The only legal way to control hours is to cut them back to insure that no one employee is going to get close to the 40 hour mark...

You said that management was dumb.... if they had an employee that had less than 40 hours why didn't they use them?

Logistics, and the time space continuum is the answer. What if the two employees that ARE part time are already working and Alice is the only one to round out the three they need for some time period.

There is a lot of scribbling and erasures that go on when a schedule is put together. Figuring who works when in any shop is a logistical problem with not unlimited solutions.

If they were paying low base wages, part of the calculation on what to pay includes how many hours your employees want to be employed for and what that shift looks like.

But modern-day liberalism is still stranger than all that: after crafting a system of open borders and de facto amnesty that has allowed millions of impoverished from central Mexico to reside in California, the architects of such a system then shut down almost all means to provide illegal aliens a livelihood: water diversions from agriculture, the near extinction of the timber and mining industries, taboos against fracking and horizontal drilling, a virtual shut-down of new housing construction, and on and on.

The result is that the Bay Area liberal looking down from his cupola has pulled up the stairway to his perch. He has essentially decreed that the impoverished will have very little livelihood in an overregulated state other than welfare and entry-level government jobs, and will live an apartheid existence in the Central Valley and L.A. basin, shut out from the coastal corridor where new housing is permanently on hold to any other than the top 2% of the state population.

Hillary: We'll take your money for 'common good'

Senator speaks to wealthy taxpayers at San Francisco fund-raiser

Addressing a Democratic fund-raiser yesterday, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., told wealthy supporters the government will need to take money away from them for the “common good.”

Clinton headlined an appearance with other women Democratic senators in San Francisco, where donors gave as much as $10,000 to California Sen. Barbara Boxer’s campaign.

“Many of you are well enough off that … the tax cuts may have helped you,” Clinton said, according to the Associated Press. “We’re saying that for America to get back on track, we’re probably going to cut that short and not give it to you.

“We’re going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good.”

I was at the store today. I literally couldn't bull my way thru the mob of managers assembled for a sermon about how to display onions. So, attention whore that I am, I injected me into things, asking if the occasion was a wake to mourn the loss of sales.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Pretty soon, everyone in the Motor Works will be focused on demonstrating need...

If you wanted to parse the sentence at all:

The Emerald City may witness the economic dangers of hiking the minimum wage to $15/hour sooner rather than later.

The italicized portion is the central theme.

The point of the sentence is not whether the city will or will not witness the economic dangers of the minimum wage hike. At issue is when it will happen.

You are free to dispute the premise of the statement with a sentence or two of your own.

What doesn't happen is a change in meaning when you choose to bold and enlarge a particular word.

Just like when you gleefully pointed out the irrelevant fact that the word incompetent did not appear in either article, it did not change the clear message of both that there were glaring problems related to the competency of the administration in a multiplicity of areas. I'll save you some work..."Glaring" does not appear in the article, nor does "multiplicity."

Sometimes (rarely), a misplaced comma or the emphasis on a particular word can change or modify the meaning of a sentence. In this case you just sound like Shatner or Walkin with a gratuitous emphasis.

Reading is not a word-find puzzle. Try reading for comprehension rather than scanning for a word or phrase that you think out of context or truncated supports your preconceived ideology.

"Thinking for yourself" should only be attempted after you fill your head with information to think about. It is most effective if if you the actual capacity to reason.

I can't argue with that logic.

It's not out of thin air, it's from the article.

Today 4th June Australia raised the minimum wage for adults to AUD$ 18.70 (=US$17.00).

Unemployment is 5%.

1 Fact. Germany has no Legislated minimum wage.

Fact 1 : germany has 34 paid holidays a year

Fact 2. Germany has universal healthcare

3 Fact. Without a minimum wage, Germany places dead last in the G8 nations..because the rest do

Fact 1 : germany has 34 paid holidays a year

3 Fact. Without a minimum wage, Germany places dead last in the G8 nations..because the rest do

You will need to entertain a further fact: that you are wrong.;)

Germany has 11 paid holidays per year nationwide. Some particular cities and Lander (states) have 2, occasionally three more, but they are local.

The German Healthcare system is not universal. It is a multi payer funded system. It is 75% funded through compulsory insurance (for poorer people) largely administered at Lander levels and 25% by private insurance.

I hope you got your third fact right but cannot comment because you neglected to say what they were last in.:) Average German wages are very good because their people are so well trained. They have been smart enough to invest in improving the marketability (skills) of their labour rather than wasting money paying excessively for trash.
