Rain comes

We're searching for the snake now...again! I really thought we were done with this. And thanks to all the rain we have a rainforest of bushes and leaves this spring, which only make it easier for him to hide from us...it's a con-spir-acy, I tell you!

If we find him, we'll happy over-night his little green rain-making tail to you. Fucker spent all winter trying to drown the west coast....

We'll cover the freight bill. Mark the package 'Garden Hoses' so our DNR doesn't have a hissy fit about bringing another exotic critter into the state. ;)

Oh, right! You've already got all those snakes. I'd worry that they'd eat our little green, but he's had ninja training.

La Niña is apparently in the process of giving way to El Niño. Is't possible that explains some of your unseasonable rain? Have a gander: http://wp.me/P7y4l-6gT

In truth, I'm not that familiar with Southern California weather patterns but I do pay attention to ENSO.

By the way, I just read an absolutely riveting account of one man's introduction to a West Coast marine weather phenomenon titled "In Which I Finally Understand The Fair Weather Gale." It's a great sea story; the fellow is lucky to be alive.

For those of you who have never seen a "survival suit."
Hint: If someone tells you to put one on, it's a good idea to comply.

This year's weather is quite inexplicable. This last winter was a true La Nina and supposed to be very dry. But every so often, usually a decade or more apart, the jet stream shifts to something called the Pineapple Express (the wind blows over Hawai'i) that pumps tropical moisture much farther south than usual. No one in the Weather Service can explain this. But they don't know about the Little Green Snake!

He damn well better have...we have Anacondas, Boa's, Pythons and Rattlers...not to mention Nile Monitor Lizards, 3 kinds of Iguana's, Cuban Knight Anoles and Black and White Tegu Lizards. It's a jungle (literally) down here.
