Hi guys me and the hubby are sitting here watching the race on television and was wondering how many of you like to watch or go to the races? and also do any of you have a favorite driver and if you do who and why?
mine is Jeff Gordon #24 because he is a really cool driver and gives the old dogs a run for their money (not too much this year though) well just sometning was curious about.

Nicole,
Don't encourage him he just thinks he is too funny sometimes. lol

Oh you two. See why we all love you :)

You bring joy and happiness into our lives, Exactly what I need right now.

I like Dale Jarrett and Awesome Bill (not the one from Arkansas).

Winston Cup is fun to watch on TV, but I prefer the local short track racing we have here in VT. The length of the races for Winston Cup can be a little overpowering. It takes up a whole afternoon to see a race.

One of the announcers referred to the fact that the Indianapolis 500 has been called 'the world's longest left turn.' I think that's a pretty apt description.

I watched yesterday to see how Sara Fisher did. It seems three is not her lucky number. She was the third woman to make the field, the third youngest driver to make the field, and she and Lynn St James got taken out together in the third accident.

One thing that puzzles me, is that they never identified the male driver that tried to pass under both of them and cuased the crash.

Thanks Lasher.

I saw the interview with Sara that was quoted, but must have missed Lazier's name being mentioned during the broadcast.

I am a big fan of racing - being an European though my addiction is Formula 1.

Atm. I am in a tough position to either support the german car (Mercedes) or go for the german driver "Go Schumi, go!!) *g*...

Ahhh - as if it really was an alternative!!! La scuderia Ferrari just has to make your heart beat faster - and with Michael Schumacher in the cockpit - ADORABLE!!
Looking forward to see his little brother drive for one of the winning teams soon *g*

Hmmm - and isn't Jenson Button one of the Indy drivers? Or was it F300??

Now - most of my (female - no offense intenden, ladies) friends can't really understand why watching 20 cars drive around in a twisting and bending circle for approx. 2 hours, and only half of them arriving in the end, but let's face it ... mmmmhhh ... just those engines - those powerful sounds - smooth and aerodynamic shapes ... the excitement - pit stop .. is he gonna get it in and out on time (the fuel nuzzle *weg*)- is the rubber on in time ??? (talking about the tires of course) ;) .. and then the Monte Carlo city circuit ... oh my!!!!

Oooops - sorry, guess I got carried away here a little ...

Just wanted to say I am a fan of the Formula 1 !

All I've ever watched is Nascar.
My dad is a huge fan, so I was raised as a Dale Earnhardt fan.
Although I think Jeff Gordon is a little cutie. Until he talks in those damned fritos commercials.... :D

Argh, commercialism.

Melody; I agree with you about the commercials he looks stupid there. lol As for the indy race I am more of a winston cup fan but it is good to see a few women finally getting into racing. Never watched formula 1 will have to try and catch one though thank to all for posting was wondering if me and the wizard were the only ones good to hear otherwise.

I like F1 too. Especially Monza, Spa and Monte Carlo- what an atmosphere! (And not forgeting the Silverstone boat race!)

I am fond of Schumacher, but I feel obliged to go with the local boys.
