The recent bombings in London reminded me of how far removed we have become from the realities of 9/11.

But should we be surprised?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former South Dakota Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because
of profiling.

Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder-headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense, feel doubly ashamed of themselves - if they have any such sense.

As Winston Groom so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does."

WRONG. These other extremes already are involved. See: the USAPATRIOT Act. Portions of the USAPATRIOT Act have already been thrown out in court by judges that Bush's attorney general then later accused of compromising national security.
The internment camps did happen.
Guantanamo does exist.
Total Information Awareness has been proposed.

The Constitution says we have equal protection under the law. Racial profiling - monitoring and harassing specifically people of one ethnicity - violates the law of equal protection. Innocent people will have their liberties stripped from them because they're brown skinned or read the Quran. Of course, in your book the only innocent ayrab is a dead ayrab, huh?

As I said, if they started profiling white people, you would be screaming bloody murder. They didn't start racially profiling Christian whites after Timothy McVeigh, now did they?

A lot more people need to see it with great clarity because otherwise lots of innocent Americans will have the government stalking them for no other reason but that they're born in the wrong ethnicity.

People need to go back to Nazi Germany's history and read about stuff like the Reichstag fire and study the amazing and rock solid parallels between that and the whole 9/11 + racial profiling issue.

Then again I expect a buncha idiots (not saying you're one of them) to see this and say "but Bush isn't Hitler!!!" without ever even trying to analyze the Reichstag fire incident and its relevance to the current war on terror.

that being said there is nothing wrong with a person using common sense to dicatate who they randomly search. the real problem arises because that act is given a name (profiling) and agents are given specific criteria to look for.
