Race War

K-CIA (Anglo-America) behind the attack (likely).

China has more influence than Russia.

Elementary, Watson.

I've never heard of this K-CIA. Why would Anglo-America want to provoke something between N. and S. Korea? Why wait until now?

Friend, when we talk about North and South Korea, we are talking about China, Russia, and Anglo-America.

It is true that both Koreas have patrons, but both have quite a bit of autonomy too. "Beloved Leader" could have ordered such a thing. He's crazy enough to do it.

What I gather so far:

1-S.Korean public opinions are calling N.Koreans animals, more or less (You see how dumb this is.).
2-Obama and Japan are backing S.Korean claim.
3-China is backing neither (S.Korea is more important for China economically, right now)
4-There is power struggle among Kim Jung Il people and the supporters of the heir-apparent in N.Korea.

5. The Korean War has never ended. All that exists is a cease-fire.

That's true, but there was never any declaration of war in the first place.

True, but a state of war existed and was halted by a truce.

The NKPA is supposed to exist for that reason, sucking a significant amount off the top of the NK economy. The solders are all pumped full of propaganda and most of them probably buy into the paranoia. Only the Internet can save them!

If there is a push by junior to get his Dear ole Dad out of the way, Junior could have arranged a loose torpedo, to jiggle the old mans chair.

The K-CIA (Korean Central Intelligence Agency) is probably the only intell on North Korea full time. They no doubt have a real understanding what life is like in the north.

You don't think NSA has their little rabbit ears perked towards the north? True, not the same as being in country, but not ignoring them either.

Why am I posting here?

I'd like to see an NSA man try to get real on the ground intel. The K-CIA has Koreans who can slip thru the net, most of the time. You do not want to be caught as a spy in the Workers Paradise.

That's not what the NSA does. My point was regarding your premise that no one is paying attention to Korea full-time other than the South Koreans. No one has more to lose than S. Korea, nor understands or integrates into North Korean culture the way S. Koreans can, so it only makes sense they would be the ones doing the heavy lifting with regards to intel, right?

But that doesn't mean there aren't others, such as the US, watching.

But Jack, that's not the real issue. ;) Do you believe the K-CIA (Anglo-America) was likely behind the attack, or not?

From China's perspective, nothing can be more undesirable than a political and economic collapse in North Korea, chaos in the country, military and political destabilization on and around the Korean Peninsula, and the subsequent imminent establishment of the US and South Korean control over the situation followed by the deployment of US military bases along the Chinese-Korean border.

This is nothing new. Been this way for decades. And you think the Obama Administration has decided now is a good time to instigate this? Why now? Why not at any point over the last fifty years? Some would say our (US) military is the smallest and most worn-out it's been since Vietnam. Do you think this is the case? Do you believe the Obama Admin feels differently? If S. Korea is provoking, then one would have to assume the S. Korean government is very confident in the full military backing of this administration. Or . . . this is all being done by a bunch of rogue insiders, perhaps in the K-CIA?

DRIPSTICK

North Korea is a primitive, subsistence economy.

According to Anthony Daniels, MD, who spent some time in the NK capital, what progress there is is entirely cosmetic. There are grand boulevards but no cars, there are modern shopping malls but you cant buy anything, the colleges and schools are filled with actors playing the parts of students and professors.

We built their nuclear plant for them as a bribe.

I imagine NK wants more Western stuff, and the sinking incident was intended to alarm Obama enough so he'd give them something.

I know this. You know this. Some on this thread don't seem to know this. Address them. They were (and maybe still are) starving to death just a few years ago.

Wiki's not a reliable documentable source, but for our purposes here, it's good enough:

Likewise, this is a bit old, 2005, and doesn't come from a blog and uses UN data, so is no doubt unreliable.

You disagree with the poster to whom I was addressing. He, apparently, feels this was provoked by the K-CIA. Your reasoning is more plausible, if less thrilling.

Finally, the huge speculative infrastructure and property bubbles in China are due for an enormous spill. That too will weigh on commodity prices and in turn currency valuations of the commodity producing countries.

Global bust round II is now in progress. However, the declines have been extremely fast. We can easily see a relief rally at any time.

The TV heads says a North Korean submarine did it.

What's wrong with South Korean sonar?
