What is your Board Behaviour? Are you the leader, the patient teacher, the firestarter, the "me too"-er, the undisputed god of off topic banter? Honestly, how do You see Your role in this everswirling tornado of contemplation, debate, debauchery and general sillyness?

This is my second AH thread. Evah. So I guess that I'm not much of a threadstarter. I just pop my head in and say silly things now and then...

...like this.

Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don't. Maybe that's why I consider myself bisexual? Hm, more thought on this . . . ;)

Me too! I like to think of it as 'enterprising space filler'.

Eg. It's the weekend, bloody hell yeah!!!!!!

I start very few threads. Most of them die the same day. :)

I try to say less than I could, and no more than I ought. I delete a lot of half-finished posts and decide not to touch that topic after all. "It is better to say nothing and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt." I don't always stick to that, but I give it a good shot.

Nothing irritates me on discussion boards more than someone who always resorts to ad hominem attacks, seizes on small errors or can't let go of an argument until he or she is the acknowledged "winner". I like to hear various opinions and am reasonably secure in mine; a disagreement can be much more interesting than "me too" if everyone keeps it sensible. I try not to take anything personally online, and it usually ruins the discussion when other people insist on doing so.

Madame Manga, is one of the most thoughtful posters on the AH in my opinion. (I don't actually recall her posting to the very silly threads)

I start threads when I need to know what other people think. I prefer to start threads that have some value to other posters. Even if it appears to be a silly thread, "anyone for cleeks" springs to mind, I like to believe there is usually serious intent, if hidden.

I've started a few. Some I was glad I started and others that were rather painful to have been responsible for. I enjoy most threads, but there are several that just never die and boy I wish they would.

But the great thing is, unsubscribe. Presto.

I'm with you, E. I'd be glad to pay a hacker to kill some threads.

I've started some from silly to quite serious, don't think I've regretted any. My only regrets are posts to some. The most amazing thread was one for opera lovers. What was amazing was that I put it on the GB and no stupid people posted ;) . I was still new then and didn't think it fit the AH.

edit p.s. Gauche's reply to M.Manga made me feel very juvenile thinking on some posts I've written in anger. I shall try to keep her in mind as a role model poster.

I felt smarter when we used to all chat with Gary Chambers about religion and the meaning of life and whether Canada is a country and stuff. My vocab...voccab...use of words was improving, too.

:(

I start threads, I end threads, I debate on threads, I vote on threads, I ignore threads, I miss threads...

What she said.

:D

I voted "A", because I'm greedy, selfish, narcissistic and completely self-obsessed.

Nobody else gets a look-in when I'm around.

Yes, I am a thread starter. I'm also the FIRESTARTER.
