I happened on a thread the other day wherein the Lit member was griping mildly about adult-themed avs. He had logged into Lit from his school, from his puter lab. Someone happened to look over his shoulder, saw one of the wilder avs and complained to whomever was in charge of the lab. The Lit member was asked to leave the lab.
I thought about what had happened to him and decided that i didn't want to be even inadvertantly responsible for bringing trouble to someone else with my own R rated av. So i removed it.
However, i've gotten a couple of "what happened to your av" emails and now i'm a little confused as to what's best in this situation. since i access Lit from the privacy of my own office at home (mostly), this isn't an issue for me. It is for others, though, and i still don't want to be a problem to anyone.
Therefore: should R rated avs be allowed out to play and to hell with those who can only log in from semi-public terminals or should those of us who are willing to refrain from using them do so for the common good?
I'm putting my av back up for a day, just to show what i mean by "R" rated. It's more likely than not everyone who might read this has a slightly different interpretation of that rating.
