At 94. Inventor of the electrical acoustical guitar and a major force in music--innovator in multitrack channeling as well. (Major performer in the 50s with then-wife, Mary Ford.)

He led a great life and will be remembered fondly by many people for a long time. My guitarist played a glossy white Les Paul with gold knobs and pickups. It was smooth and so very classy.

May Les Paul be at peace.

Without his originality, we'd have some real junk on the radio.
I never fathomed why he didn't want Leo Fender to make his guitar but my favourite track was "How high the Moon".

RIP, Mr Paul.
I guess the angels will be learning new stuff on the electric harp.

Damn! Another pioneer takes Death's arrow. I was blown away by he and Mary Ford's renditions using multi-tracking...that music still holds up today.

I have "The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise" running thru my head as I type. :D

RIP Les...thanks for all the tunes. :rose:

A couple of years ago at Tape Op Con (an underground music industry conference) they called Les Paul during a panel discussion, patched the phone through the sound system, and we all sang happy birthday to him. It was a teary moment.
