One of his earlier roles was as Thomas in Glory in 1989. Here he is in a basic training scene; I guess it's the same in every military.

 
He was wonderful in Frequency. Just seemed to make everything he was in better.
 
Another one bites this dust. I'm sure it is't worse than past years, but more of my favorites are dying than usual. Lance Riddic and Andre Baugher are near or at the top of the list.
 
A great actor. Thank you for noting his passing and sharing. Homicide redefined good television for me. The acting and storytelling was so compelling.

Yep. I was in college when it came out, and it was the first sophisticated television show I remember watching. And he was definitely the star. Just the way he inhabited that character, and how humanly complicated he was. And he's so young!
