I just submited my first story to Lit and I was wondering if it is accepted do they let me know by e-mail or do they just put it up on the story bit of the site? I'm not quite sure how to tell when or if it has been accepted. Also how long does it usually take? Thanks

Hi Romy,

Welcome to Lit! Congrats on posting your first story, too!

If the story is accepted it will just post (no email notification or anything). You can tell if the story has been accepted by going to your submissions page and viewing current submissions. You will see the title, views, votes, etc. and it will say "approved" where it now says "pending". Posting time varies depending on lots of stuff, but I think typical is 3-5 days (anyone who has posted anything recently feel free to correct me if my time frame is off).

The waiting is the worst part. :)

Much luck,

Yui

Thanks Yui

And where would I find my submissions page?? I'm not usually clueless. I blame the new look of the place. I can't find anything.

From the literotica stories main page, login to your account.
Once in, on the left pane click on "Submissions"
Then in this section, click on "View Current Submissions"

It will say pending until it gets accepted.

Oh it's ok. I've found it.

AAARRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! It's posted on the board. Oh my God. I've been reading these stories for ages. I never thought I'd be on here too. This is cool.

If someone votes or leaves comments, will they notify me of that or do I have to go look for that somewhere too?

Thanks again

Same page with your submissions. When someone leaves a comment there will be a line you can click on that says "Moderate Public Comments". It will take you right to it. As to the time frame, it depends on how long the piece is, and if there is something they have to do to it. Feels like forever but I think Yui is right with 3-5 days.

Hi Romy,

Your story has already posted! Cool beans. :)

Here's a link to Romy's Stories. If you want to add a link to your sig, you can quote my post and cut and paste the link in your sig. (That will help up your reads if people can find your stuff easily.)

Luck,

Yui

For a story, the 3-5 days is about right. For a poem? Under 12 hours. I'm still in shock!

You recieve no notification of votes or Pc's. For me, I don't usually know one of mine has posted until I get a feedback on it. Eventually, you will get a feel for how long it usually takes something to post, so you won't find yourself checking every 10 or 15 minutes )

good luck
