I don't have much time online, but after perusing the board today I have to ask...why all the negativity? What's wrong with everyone? Why all the complaints, anger, and fighting? You're here to have fun...why aren't you?

I, for one, have been having fun around here for the most part. I think a lot of members have become paranoid lately because of the anarchy that's been spreading. The general board is given a lot of freedom. That's usualy a good thing, but lately it has allowed some jerks to ruin the fun for everyone else. I guess a lot of members just don't feel very safe to post what they want these days. This is all just speculation on my part, but that's my take on what's going on.

Hi Laurel oh wise one!

I have to admit that I don't have a clue as to what's going on here, but I agree with you, people sure are in a very bad mood here lately.

It seems like every thread have been:

• somebody accusing somebody else of being a troll
• doing the best to make another member feel bad
• one out of 20 topics started by the same person in a few hours
• I know who the "insert troll name here" is

And I have to admit that I haven't had much fun here for a while.

But somehow it was like the board was more fun to be on the other day when there wasn't a massive number of threads including any of the above mentioned things. I just hope it'll stay that way.

So I have a suggestion to everybody:

If you feel like putting somebody down in public, why don't just just shake it off, and be the better person. Because when it comes down to it, this isn't real life after all. We're just here to have a good time, and not feel put down after a visit here.

Well that's just my 2¢ worth.

Don't know about all ya'll, but the weather has gone up about 60 degrees in the last few weeks. Countess deWinter can vouch for that, so can Rosie Posie and that ass Havoc. I have no air conditioning and I am a cold weather lover. I positively revel in subzero temps. That's subzero Farenheit.

I always get crabby this time of year.

I think certain people have discovered the easiest way to boost their post numbers is to be aggressive. One or two members have begun cultivating a more strident image.
Pissing someone off can easily get you ten more posts towards the next goal, or keep your name at the top of the page.
Being outspoken guarantees you will always get a reply.
For these people being noticed for being nasty is better than being ignored for being nice.

Most people I've talked to have had a fed up feeling about the BB lately. Can anyone point to any one cause? I doubt it? Maybe because we're all sitting here posting when the weather outside is so gorgeous that we realize we are complete fools for feeding our addiction so relentlessly and therefore we take it out on the very source of our addiction?

Honestly - while not an old-timer I'm not a newbie either and this week has been almost the first time I've joined in on some of what's been going on. At the same time I would also point out that I've also been having fun and have participated in some lighthearted threads and even think I started a few that could be fun for anyone interested.

The current mood of the BB is somewhat my fault...I got into a silly slapping match with another member of the BB on a thread called "Xander is an ass" and a lot of other people got dragged into the fight and it kinda split the BB in half.....it's gonna take some time for things to get back to normal, LOL, whatever that is round here.

Finally had a chance to spend some time at this board that I had missed so much while working out've town for the past little bit.

I was floored with all of the negative posts. Almost made me glad that I had missed so many weeks here,,, almost, though not quite.

I'm not real sure where all of the attitudes are coming from,,, but there do appear to be a slew of them.

Relax, smile, have fun, flirt, smile some more and flirt even more. Otherwise, what's the point?

I think my time here is valuable. When it feels otherwise then i go away and do something else. 'Course, i'm a green-as-grass newbie and so, not privy to all the politics that fuel the anger and name-calling. Still, there have been more boring-to-me (read that: angry and/or cliche-directed) threads than normal lately in this area of the BB. Sad. For everyone involved.

Involvement in a place such as this should work to positively impact one's life, and be a part of one's life, not the opposite. Such is not healthy.

I just returned from a brief sabbatical and noticed immediately the ratcheting up of vitriol. When I was last posting I made my fair share of hard-edged comments, so I'm probably not the best person to judge the current situation. I hoped in returning that i could take a more positive stance and that's still my intention.

I've read observations that the number of participants has grown dramatically, which in itself has the potential for increasing fractiousness. I get the sense some loose cannons have dropped in amongst us who try very hard to get attention. A couple of people have noted the change in seasons. I'm waiting for the astrological explanation, like Mars in retrograde or something. Maybe its just growing pains. I admit I'd welcome a kinder, gentler meeting place.
