Hey there guys gals and non-binary pals, I'm trying to find some clarification about content guidelines. I've had stuff rejected before because it had themes of snuff and dismemberment. If that's the case fine, but what about mentions of it? Like one character telling another about a previous time of extreme violence. I want to know what's expected of me before I put it in this recording.

Stories with violence get published. But I'd avoid being too graphic, or writing it in a way that could be interpreted as titillating or glorifying violence and murder.

Maybe if it was in a context that clearly condemned it? Otherwise, no.

All allowed - I’ve personally written a series containing a very sadistic murderer - you just need to ensure any sex and any violence are clearly separated

A note to admin acknowledging your content clarifying this differentiate might also assist your cause

I have published several stories here with heinous scenes, including mention of dismemberment.

As others have mentioned, the context in which the violence is mentioned must be entirely non-sexually related.

I've written a disembowlment, harakiri style. No sexual connotations, and his head gets taken back to the castle on a stake.
