Is new story too political?

I didn't realise the site had banned politics and earlyier this year I submitted a story set during a school fund raising event at a polling booth for the Australian federal election. The minimal politics mentioned was fairly balanced and tame. Though I was dissapointed when it was rejected, it took barely any time at all to remove the politics and published the story set at a non-election day school fete.
