Incest in stories...

Good, bad, otherwise?

How much is too much? Weigh in and let me know what ya think.

Me personally, incest is a turn on as you've probably noticed from Goldeneye, but I've had several incestuous encounters with my own sister. Twisted? Perhaps. But no one was hurt and everyone enjoyed it.

I believe that sex is another expression of love, and even if it' between family, it's still love.

But that's me.

I voted for its all good, but a caveat should be its OK in a fictional world. I don't have any desire to be involved in incest in a real world. It has to be imaginary, fantasy type stuff, and then it's fine with me. It is a fun fantasy in my mind, stress the word fantasy.

Has the whole world gone incest?

From the poll only 4 people have voted at this point... and I appear to be the only one who has a strong distaste for incest. I don't feel it is right in fictional stories or real life. And if I have any word over it, you'll never see it in one of my stories. Just my opinion. Everybody has different tastes. As I am sure a lot of people would be strongly opposed to things I enjoy.

Since I do not enjoy this, I simply do not read any incest stories. If it is a story by a friend or writer whom I have enjoyed in the past, I will give the story a chance. After all, there might be an angle that doesn't lead to incest. Right.

Anyway, there's my vote!

There are worse things in the world than incest and I have a somewhat dubious take on morals anyway. I've written a couple of incest threads and no longer have too much interest in it. In real life I can't say it is something that that turns me on at all, being straight and having a brother might have something to do with that of course.

In fiction I don't mind, the whole point in fiction is that the writer is taking us on a journey to things we would never normally see or experience. So as long as it makes some sense and is well written I have no problem with incest stuff in chyoo threads. Although I'm less interested in parent/child sex threads.

Incest is a tough one for me. I, personally, find it disgusting - but I can think of no logical reason why that is so. Consensual sex between adults is consensual sex between adults, after all. The fact remains that I find it abhorrent and a major turn-off.

I think, in the end, that it's a matter of instinct. It is in the best interest of a species to mate outside the immediate family, lest harmful recessive genes be passed on to the next generation. Those who had the instinct to not have sex with family members left more viable offspring, who had the same instinct, etc. Evolution at work. This also explains why it is that homosexuals are a minority - obviously, if you're gay, you don't have as many children.

So my only explaination for my feeling on the matter is that my anti-incest instinct must be particularly strong. And since I see no point in fighting it, it's likely to stay that way.

It's the forbidden thang....

For me personally, it's the forbidden aspect that's a turn on as a FANTASY!!!!

For some reason, the thought of myself engaging is a turn off, but the thought of other people is a turn on.... weird huh?

you all have good points....

No one understands how thier mind works. For me incest and lesbianism turn me on. Maybe it's because I can relate to it on a personal level, sort of picture myself there. Me and my sister were a one time thing, an experiment for her. To me, sex is about love, and as long as no one is hurt I find it acceptable. Even I have my limits however. Underage is underage. Where the legal points my be very well set, emotional ages are much harder to pin down. But regardless, sex with a five year old is revolting even to me. If you're going to have sexual interaction, whether real or fictional, the characters should be mature enough for BOTH of them to understand and enjoy what they're doing, and I really don't little six year old susy enjoys getting bent over the table by daddy.

Anyway, that's my opinion. I could be wrong.
