I've been waiting 2 days for my story to be approved. How long does it usually take?

This is probably a question for Weird Harold (he has all the information!) but I believe he'd say anywhere from 24 hours to seven days (or longer).

I know at this moment they are busy with the holiday contest submissions - those are first priority - so it may take a little longer than usual.

The average on my stories has been 4 days, I think.

From ther threads such as this, it would appear that the current average for a "routine" submission is running about seven to ten days.

Contest and chainstory submissions have priority over routine submissions because of deadlines and scheduled submission/posting dates. Other stories depend on the number of other submissions and theamount of time Laurel can devote to vetting the stories and arranging a mix of categories and authors for each days postings. At this time of the year, real life is bound to intrude on the time available for her to read submissions what with parties, parades, football bowl games, and Chrsitmas shopping competing for Laurel's time.

Have patience. It's not like any dlay in posting your story is going to adversely affect your royalty payments.
