Hi guys, I was thinking of going through a few of old penthouse forum stories, and was not sure how that would work given they are not my orginal work. I have no intention of claming them as my own, and was planing to creat them in a little sub serises, with a random storie from penthouse every few weeks, but didn't want to get afoul of the mods.

so what is the deal with posting old stories in magainizes from 20-30 years ago?

It's not your content, you can't do that. Copyright remains with the original magazine and/or the original writers.

Not quite. The other posts were about using someone else’s characters or continuing an existing story. This one goes muuuuuuch further than that, and well into the plagiarism territory, given how OP doesn’t intend to do any writing at all.

This is taking things further, but it's essentially the same question: can I post content that isn't original?

Well, to be fair, the story involves a mom and a son and Mom has a mostly fixed number of holes to work with so...

That and Variations set my imagination in motion.

For years, I read those and substituted people and places I could associate with. Eventually, I could take the core story line and rewrite it to make one of my own.

I never really varied from that format ... short, letter to the editor or diary type ... rather than longer book style stories.



Think about how many times and ways A Christmas Story has been redone. Or Frankenstein.
