If I have some questions that don’t necessarily seem directly related would it be better if I start new threads vs. putting them all into one?

Thanks,
Rox.

If you want to ask people how and where to purchase the best flogger for your Dom's birthday and then ask what someone's favorite position is for a golden shower... yes, it would be best to start a new thread for that.

And some threads are better suited for the cafe and vice versa.

Thank you for the response Desert. As being very, very new to the boards and posting questions in trying to learn I was thinking of something more generalized and low key. But I'm inclined to think new threads would work out better so I'll probably do that.

Thanks again,
Rox.

If you offend anyone with a thread... so what? If you have a question that does not really relate well to a thread you already have going, do start a new one. It's the only way to really know you will get the attention of someone who would have some great things to communicate to you and others.

Remember, the things you ask are not unique to you. There are hundreds of lurkers who can learn from a thread and a post, and who are going through similar conflicts. It's kinda like a public service thing... ;-) yanno?

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and I appreciate the advice. Although I hope I don't offend anybody. Or present any really dumb questions.

Try not to worry too much about offending someone. Some people make it a major part of their lives to be offended. LOL.

I've been told there aren't any really dumb questions. In truth I've seen some I thought were on this board. but in general questions are important for learning. Admitting you don't know everything and asking are great tools for learning IMO. Too many people seem to think they do know everything or are too afraid to admit they do not. Those people are going to have a damned hard time learning anything in life.

*hugs*

Thanks Fury. Yet again, as on other posts of yours I've seen, I find your words to be very helpful.

I recommend doing searches and in the case of this board, I've found that the library is a good starting point.

And I suggest that you be careful and/or thickskinned on the GB. It's a strange mix of fluff, sex and politics and many newbs have been torn a new asshole for starting a thread about a topic that's already been discussed in twenty other threads.

And a lot of them don't like it when you bump old threads either. I don't know why.

Thanks for the response. I've been doing a lot of reading, from the library and various links that have been posted. I've written down questions as I've read and found answers for most. For now I'm just hoping for a little clarification on a few things I'm still a little confused about. Not that there aren't a LOT of things I'm confused about...lol, but for now a question here, a question there and then on to more research.

I've also found the search function for key words to be very helpful in looking through previous threads, so hopefully I don't end up "beating a dead horse" so to speak.

Thanks again,
Rox.

Dive in and post questions- even questions or issues that are covered in the Library threads, can be discussed with interesting new perspectives, when a topic is "revisited"... I know my views on multiple BDSM subjects, are very different than they were 2 years ago when I started reading and posting at Lit.

I admit right off the bat that I'm not the biggest help in the world but... you might think that by starting a new thread about something that has previously been on the boards, you're beating a dead horse, but there are dozens of new posters who have opinions or experiences that they would never have the opportunity to post otherwise.

Yes, many of us who've been here a while and in the lifestyle for a bit and have posted a dozen times on "how we discovered our BDSM bent" probably won't be posting to that kind of thread again, there are however, new people who would like to post and read that.

Post away and use the library. Don't worry so much about offending folks. But most of all when come here make friends and have fun.

Thanks Cutiemouse and Desertrose... I do need to quit talking about posting some questions and actually start posting them. LOL

Thanks....
Rox.

Welcome, Rox :)
I think you will do just fine here. You seem to be smart and invest thinking time before asking others for help. That's IMO the best way to go. You'll learn more, and you won't annoy anyone.
Just post away. :rose:

Thanks Chris, I finally bit the bullet and have a thread going now. I'm sure I'll be adding more questions as I get the mass of information swirling around in my head into a few more cohesive thoughts. LOL
